How to change language in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for immersive experiences and an affinity for games rooted in rich cultural narratives like “Journey to the West”, I found myself drawn to Black Myth: Wukong. The game’s high ratings and top position on Steam were certainly enticing, but the initial launch in an unfamiliar language proved a bit of a hiccup.

Black Myth: Wukong is an action game similar to Soulslike series, inspired by the ancient Chinese novel “Journey to the West”. Players have praised it highly, and it’s been a hit on Steam online. But, after buying the game, you might find yourself playing in an unfamiliar language. Follow our guide below to learn how to change it.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve found myself in a peculiar situation with Black Myth Wukong. Upon launching the game, it seems there’s been a slight hiccup – despite my initial selection of language, the game insists on starting in Chinese. Now, I’m not a master of hieroglyphics, and navigating through those symbols to find the right option isn’t exactly my idea of fun. But fear not! By following this simple guide, you can easily switch the language to Chinese or any other language that suits your preference. Let’s get gaming in your preferred tongue!

How to change language in Black Myth Wukong

  1. Launch the game.
  2. Wait until all the cutscenes have passed or skip them.
  3. After starting the main action, press Escape and select the very last line from the bottom. This will take you to the main menu.
  4. Find the “Settings” icon. It’s the fourth item from the top or the second from the bottom.
  5. Open the Language menu. It is on the fifth line from the top.
  6. At the top you will see the language of the text. Change it to Russian. It will be written in Cyrillic, so there should be no error. Or you can choose another option.
  7. On the second line is the choice of voice acting. Here you need to decide between English and Chinese.
  8. The third line is responsible for subtitles. Turn them on if you don’t know Chinese or English.
