How Taylor Swift’s Secret Routine Helped Sarah Snook Crush Broadway
Succession actress Sarah Snook has revealed that she decided to take a page out of Taylor Swift’s book while preparing for her new role on Broadway – and it really paid off.
Snook, 37, is currently starring in The Picture of Dorian Gray on Broadway, which sees her taking on all 26 roles in the dynamic show.
And, it’s no easy feat, which means that Snook had to prepare both mentally and physically beforehand.
When she was asked about her fitness routine during a recent interview with The New Yorker, Snook admitted that Swift was behind some of her regimen.
She said to the outlet, “I avoid both alcohol and caffeine. All I focus on is getting plenty of sleep, over and over again. Plus, I deliver my acting lines with a fast pace while running on a treadmill.
The interviewer chimed in to point out that the treadmill technique was something that Swift did to prepare for The Eras Tour.

The Emmy-winning actress expressed, “Upon hearing it, I was struck by its brilliance. I decided then and there that I would put it into action.
During her 2023 Person of the Year interview with TIME Magazine, the Bad Blood hitmaker revealed her intense training program for the sold-out, worldwide tour.
Swift explained that she started training six months before the tour kicked off at a New York City-based gym called Dogpound – a ‘state-of-the-art’ facility ‘offering bespoke team, private training, lifestyle advice,’ according to its website.
She remembered practicing her complete song lineup while exercising on a treadmill, ensuring she’d be able to sing her popular songs confidently as she moved across the stage.
‘Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,’ she said. ‘Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.’
The Cruel Summer popstar also incorporated ‘strength, conditioning, and weights.’
Then, three months before the tour, Taylor also began working relentlessly with choreographer Mandy Moore in order to learn the dance moves.
And, while the program is quite intense, it looks like it’s worked out for both Swift and Snook.

Similarly to Snook, it looks like many of her Succession cast members have now turned to theatre, with Jeremy Strong starring in An Enemy of The People, Brian Cox in A Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and Kieran Culkin in Glengarry Glen Ross, just to name a few.
Snook expressed it as a striking coincidence, mentioning that her fellow cast members are now venturing into theater too.
‘But I think that probably comes down to casting in the first place. Kieran was in This Is Our Youth with Michael Cera before Succession; he’s great onstage,’ Snook continued.
Brian Cox, you know, is like a theatre prodigy. Going back to the theatre is essentially a return to what he finds enjoyable.
Snook will be on Broadway until the show closes on June 15.
