James Gunn, one of the co-CEOs at DC Studios, shared insights about how Season 2 of ‘Peacemaker’ will play a significant part in establishing the broader landscape of the DC Universe. The series is set to resume on HBO Max on August 21, 2025.

In the creation of “Peacemaker,” Gunn takes on the roles of writer, director, and showrunner. For its second season, John Cena returns as Chris Smith/Peacemaker, alongside Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Nhut Le as Judomaster, and Robert Patrick as August “Auggie” Smith/White Dragon. This season will also feature new additions to the cast including Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, Michael Rooker, and Tim Meadows.
