Children In Need announced its fundraising total for 2025 after its annual telethon. The event, which first aired in 1980, has once again raised millions of pounds for a vital charity, marking 45 years of support.
Wow, tonight’s all-star show was amazing! And I couldn’t believe it when Paddy McGuinness got to announce the total amount raised. He was so excited, he actually said it was something he’d always dreamed of doing – it was a really special moment.
The count at that moment was unveiled to be a hefty £45,507,536.

Mel Giedroyc, one of the hosts for the night, expressed her amazement at the fundraising total, saying, “Wow! This is an incredible amount, and we’re all so thankful for everyone’s generosity.”
I was checking the numbers from this year’s telethon, and it’s amazing! Last year they raised £39.2 million by the end of the show, and the year before that, £33.5 million. It’s incredible to think that the charity has now raised over a billion pounds since it started – what a difference they’re making!

A touching moment occurred shortly after Sara Cox learned her difficult marathon run had already generated over £9.5 million in donations.
She ran an incredible 135 miles during the Great Northern Marathon – that’s like completing five full marathons in just five days!
She traveled through four different counties, over many hills, and battled rough weather to reach the finish line in the town of Pudsey.
The broadcaster was cheered on during her challenge by many famous faces, including Prince William, Peter Kay, Mel C, Paula Radcliffe, Dame Judi Dench, and Damon Albarn. She described the experience as incredibly challenging, painful, but ultimately rewarding.

Despite the freezing, wet, and muddy conditions, a huge crowd turned out. Truck drivers honked their horns in support, farmers paused their work to wave hello, and children lined the roads with handmade signs – it was incredible to see so much community spirit.
“It was incredible. And thanks to everyone who let me stop for a wee at their house!”
I was really enjoying the show tonight! Remember Monday, who were amazing on Eurovision, did a beautiful cover of Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day’. They also had some fun sketches featuring characters from The Apprentice, Gladiators, and even EastEnders – it was a great mix of everything!
Tonight’s show was hosted by a great group including Alex Horne and Joe Lycett, as well as Big Zuu, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, and Lenny Rush.
This year, Tom and Buzz Fletcher are releasing the official Children in Need single, ‘Thread of Hope’. The song is featured in a special 25-minute animated film on CBeebies, coming in December, and stars Pudsey Bear.
