How Louise Thompson is Reclaiming Her Life After a Year of Health Struggles

On Thursday, Louise Thompson shared an Instagram post detailing her journey to rediscovering her vitality following a challenging year filled with various health struggles.

35-year-old celebrity from Made In Chelsea had an urgent operation due to a sudden health complication (septic shock) that occurred in November.

Previously this year, she ended up at a hospital in London due to several health issues that arose post-childbirth with her son Leo. Subsequently, due to her ulcerative colitis, diagnosed in 2018, she received a ‘vital’ surgical bag (stoma bag) as part of her treatment.

Now Louise has revealed that she is ‘regaining a sense of control’ thanks to her journal.

She shared on her social media story: ‘Around a month ago, I found myself in a somewhat humorous situation, and now I’m feeling like my zest is returning. This seems to be making a difference.’

Revising the sentence for easier reading: ‘Writing has assisted me in reclaiming command over my life. The initial hours of my day hold immense significance, as they determine whether I will experience a joyful and productive day.’

Frequently, when there’s a lot swirling around in my mind, I find myself feeling overloaded. However, these thoughts serve as a reminder of what truly matters, which propels me to concentrate effectively.

It’s astonishing since I can actually measure the disparity. This becomes particularly noticeable when I’m engaged in tasks such as recording a podcast.

If I make a habit of journaling in the morning, I find myself feeling relaxed and content, whereas if I skip it, I may feel more anxious and restless, and I might also notice increased blinking and twitches in videos or recordings.

‘[ad – own journal]’.

In February 2024, the celebrity had to end his vacation in Antigua prematurely and rush back home on the earliest possible flight due to heavy bleeding that occurred approximately every 20 minutes.

After experiencing several health problems since the birth of her son Leo, three years ago, the television figure eventually sought treatment at a London hospital.

Overwhelmed with excitement and concern, here I am, your fervent admirer, sharing a recent health update about the extraordinary Louise. The news, quite frankly, left me speechless! She’s been opening up about her harrowing circumstances, assuring us all that she is not only alive but also receiving the best possible care.

She shared that she managed to escape from a harrowing mental health predicament, but unfortunately encountered a setback during her vacation with her fiancé Ryan Libbey and Leo.

Louise determined at the time: ‘I aim to carry on with life as typically as I can, given the circumstances, because I believe staying connected, centered, and mindful benefits my mental health greatly. Moreover, I continue to hold the belief that 2024 will be outstanding!’

In the month of April, Louise disclosed that for quite some time, she has been using a ‘vital’ pouch known as a stoma bag, which was installed due to her long-term struggle with ulcerative colitis since receiving a diagnosis in 2018.

Previously, the television personality has openly discussed her battles with inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, and the autoimmune disorder, lupus.

Ulcerative colitis refers to a long-term intestinal disorder characterized by inflammation in the colon and rectum, causing tiny sores or ulcers on the inner lining that may bleed. Unfortunately, this condition does not have a known cure; however, it can be effectively controlled over time with appropriate management strategies.

Louise has been hit by a series of health setbacks following the birth of Leo two years ago.

The mother of one was diagnosed with PTSD and postnatal anxiety after nearly dying during labour.

During the ordeal, Louise experienced some degree of hearing loss, and in 2022, she disclosed that she wept approximately 20 times a week.

In the very same year, Louise disclosed that she had been identified with lupus – a health issue that impacts the immune system, leading to symptoms like joint pain, skin rashes, and extreme tiredness.

Recently, she made known that she penned a book titled “Lucky: Learning To Live Again,” recounting her harrowing experience during pregnancy.

Sharing the exciting news, Louise expressed that she felt both prepared and terrified as she embarked on a fresh journey, motivated by the encouragement to lend a helping hand by revealing her personal experiences.

Last Wednesday, the Made In Chelsea star enjoyed a birthday dinner with Ryan, Leo and brother Sam.

In my role as a devoted follower, I trudged ahead with my little one in tow, while my companion, Ryan, gracefully held aloft an impressive bunch of flowers – a thoughtful gift from our dear friend, Sam, intended for his elder sister on the occasion of her 35th birthday.
