How Kanye West Weighed In After Kid Cudi Testified Amid Diddy’s Sex-Trafficking Trial
The trial involving Sean Combs is progressing in New York, and it’s attracting attention due to notable figures being involved, some of whom have taken the stand. Most recently, rapper Kid Cudi has been drawn into the situation, sharing his perspective last week. This revelation has sparked debate on social media platforms. Not only fans, but even Kanye West has joined the conversation. From his brief remarks, it appears that he’s displeased with this new turn of events in Diddy’s case.
For the past several months, Kanye West has been regularly active on social media, voicing opinions about other artists and expressing views on current issues. Among these topics, P. Diddy’s trial is one that West has chosen to address. On a recent Saturday, Ye – now known as the 47-year-old rapper – shared his disapproval of Diddy’s testimony on X and offered his backing for the Entergalactic star.
1. Original: “I wish Cudi hadn’t testified against Puff.”
“It would have been better if Kid Cudi hadn’t given evidence against Diddy.”2. Original: “We need to not be locked in white systems.”
“We should strive to break free from the constraints of white systems.”3. Original: “Praying for Puff and his family.”
“I hope things go well for Diddy and his loved ones.”4. Original: “Praying for Puff Daddy and the Family.”
“I hope things go well for Diddy and his entire family.”
Last Thursday, musician Kid Cudi, known as Scott Mescudi in real life, testified about some personal matters in court. During his testimony, he opened up about a brief romance he had with singer Cassie Ventura, who was on-again off-again with Diddy from 2007 to 2018. According to NPR, Mescudi accused that an incident of break-in at his house in 2011 was linked to a tense situation involving Ventura and Diddy. Moreover, he also discussed a car destruction incident in January 2012, which took place right outside his home, that seemed like arson. Mescudi believes that Diddy may have been behind these events.
Apart from Ye, another prominent rapper, Young Thug, also expressed his disapproval of Kid Cudi’s testimony during the trial on social media. On Thursday, Thugger, as he is often called, posted a message to X (this was captured by TMZ). In this post, the “Hot” rapper essentially accused Kid Cudi of being a snitch, using the phrase “Dam cudi a rat lol”.
55-year-old music mogul Sean Combs is under federal investigation and could potentially face charges for sex-trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and other offenses. Currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center prior to his trial, he stands the possibility of receiving a life sentence if found guilty. It remains unclear whether any other prominent hip-hop artists may be called as witnesses during the trial. Meanwhile, it is yet undetermined if Kanye West will continue to express opinions on Combs’ legal matters.
