How John Farnham will be honoured at 2024 Logie Awards

The prospect of Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian, and The Farnham Band honoring the legendary John Farnham is nothing short of a dream come true. Having grown up listening to his timeless hits, I can only imagine the emotional power of their performance will resonate deeply with viewers and attendees alike.
In 2024, the Logie Awards will shine brightly with a spectacular musical homage featuring Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian, who are set to pay tribute to the esteemed John Farnham.
The pair is set to perform together with The Farnham Band, in a unique show commemorating Farnham’s impressive career and outstanding accomplishments on stage.

It’s highly improbable that he’ll be able to perform again, given that he had a lengthy operation to take out the tumor from his mouth.
26 medical professionals performed an operation, during which a significant portion of Farnham’s jaw was taken out. Twelve months post-surgery, Farnham shared that he no longer had cancer.
It wasn’t until his wife Jill persuaded him to see a doctor due to a prolonged mouth ulcer that he learned about the cancerous growth in his mouth.
Mauboy and Sebastian, known fans of Farnham, are anticipated to offer an impactful and heartfelt show that will strike a chord with both viewers and onlookers.
It has been confirmed that Missy Higgins will be performing at the Logies as part of the emotional ‘In Memory’ segment, honoring those from the industry who passed away in the last year.
The musician-composer is set to play a composition she penned as a tribute to someone dear, ensuring a touching and poignant episode at the event.
For tonight’s event, you can look forward to presenters such as Celia Pacquola, Stephen Peacocke, Michelle Lim Davidson, Claudia Karvan, Costa Georgiadis, Sarah Abo, Charlie Albone, Stephen Curry, and the Muster Dogs. More names will be announced later.
Comedian Sam Pang will be hosting the award’s night.
In a statement made in June, Sam expressed that hosting the Logies last year was simply fantastic and he is overjoyed at the prospect of returning to host in 2024.
Enhancing the anticipation, it has been approved by Seven for me to experiment with fresh ideas this year. Consequently, I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to showcase talents that have been undervalued, making me genuinely excited.
The contenders for the Gold Logie are Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Larry Emdur, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger, and Tony Armstrong. They’re all in the running to win this prestigious award.
In the previous year, Pang was widely praised as an exceptional host at the Logies awards, particularly since it was his first time hosting.
His blistering gags during the Logies included high profile targets such as Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic and retired Sunrise host David Koch.
On the night of the Logies, Channel Seven’s broadcast captured a massive audience of approximately 877,000 viewers, making it a significant success for their ratings.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must say, the accolades poured on Sam for the show’s triumph are well-deserved. Many have found themselves drawn to the Logies this year, not out of habit or routine, but solely to witness his captivating hosting prowess firsthand.
He gained popularity among viewers due to his witty jokes that targeted various subjects such as excessive reality TV shows and the sensational personal lives of famous individuals.
Sam’s opening monologue included a dig at Married at First Sight, saying the controversial reality show is ‘a clear sign we’ll not make it as a species’.
He also joked about commercial TV’s lack of diversity, saying: ‘I’m the first host in the history of the Logies to be half and half – half Channel Seven, half Channel Ten.’
