How I Met Your Mother stars reunite for popular TV series

As a die-hard fan of both “How I Met Your Mother” and Apple TV+’s original series, witnessing the reunion of Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders in “Shrinking” was nothing short of a dream come true! The chemistry between these two talented actors was palpable even back then, and seeing them together again brought back a flood of nostalgic feelings.

This week, stars from the popular show “How I Met Your Mother,” Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders, reunited on the latest episode of Apple TV+’s series titled “Shrinking.

In this rephrased version, Segel plays the role of Jimmy Laird, a therapist who, after the loss of his wife, adopts an unusual and questionable approach when communicating with his patients. Smulders appeared in the episode titled ‘Changing Patterns’, portraying a woman whom Jimmy attempts to negotiate with over buying a car from her.

When asked about potentially collaborating with her old co-star again, Smulders expressed to Entertainment Weekly: “What an incredible stroke of luck! I received a call from our co-creator Bill Lawrence regarding this. I’m not sure how much Jason was involved in the planning from behind the scenes, but I couldn’t have been more thrilled.

To begin with, she expressed her deep admiration for the series. She went on to say that it’s incredibly captivating and being part of such a talented ensemble was truly a privilege. She added that it felt like living a dream to appear in just a few scenes. Moreover, she mentioned her joy at collaborating with Jason once more, as she dearly missed working with him.

In the TV series “How I Met Your Mother,” Robin and Marshall, played by Smulders and Segel respectively, were simply friends. However, in their new show “Shrinking,” their characters Sofi and Jimmy have hinted at a growing mutual interest between them, offering a fresh dynamic for these actors to explore.

As for whether they will expand upon that interaction, Smulders is unsure at the moment, expressing: “I’m not certain if we’ll develop it further. I have no clue what lies ahead, but it was enjoyable to watch this character engage in a flirtation and be taken aback by it.

Simultaneously, the latest movie from Brett Goldstein, who is known for his work on shrinking projects, has been revealed to be arriving on Apple TV+.

Right now, fresh episodes for Season 2 of Shrinking are being released every Wednesday on Apple TV+. It’s also been confirmed that there will be a Season 3!
