The hit TV show How I Met Your Mother will no longer be available on Netflix after December 2025, so now’s the time to watch all your favorite episodes! While we’re looking forward to upcoming shows like season 5 of Stranger Things, it’s great to have comforting, familiar shows like Gilmore Girls to watch whenever we want.

I’ve been rewatching this sitcom on Netflix lately, and it’s so easy to have it right there! But sadly, it’s leaving next month, so I’m definitely checking the date so I can make sure I catch all my favorite parts before it’s gone. You should too!

The website What’s Leaving Netflix says that How I Met Your Mother will no longer be available on Netflix after December 3rd, 2025. This is unfortunate, especially since the show was added to the service just a few months ago in June 2024.

It’s disappointing the sitcom is leaving the platform after just over a year, especially since all nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother were available to watch. It’s frustrating when streaming services don’t have complete series, forcing you to look elsewhere to finish watching a show.

All it took was turning on Netflix to binge-watch the entire story of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) finding love, and to enjoy the touching stories of his friends and their lives.

How I Met Your Mother Has Some Flaws, But It’s Still A Worthy Binge-Watch

Look, as much as I love How I Met Your Mother, I have to admit it’s not flawless. Honestly, sometimes Ted’s relentless search for ‘the one’ can be a bit much, and rewatching the show, even from season 1, makes it hard to ignore some of the issues with Barney. His jokes and how he treated people haven’t aged particularly well, and it’s definitely noticeable.

Even so, rewatching the sitcom from the start is still really enjoyable. It’s interesting to see how Robin (Cobie Smulders) becomes part of the group, and it’s relatable to watch everyone grapple with figuring out when to commit to relationships, make important life choices, and learn to value what they already have.

The show has many memorable episodes, from the emotionally powerful “Bad News,” which portrays the loss of a parent, to the hilarious “Slap Bet,” which introduces a joke that keeps coming back. While the way How I Met Your Mother ends is still debated, you can still appreciate all the fantastic episodes that came before it, even if you’re not a fan of the finale.
