Bianca Dye’s journey on the first episode of The Golden Bachelor was incredibly close to ending before it began on Monday.

She was nervous about talking to Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden, but was surprised and thrilled when he chose her to stay during the first Rose Ceremony.

In an interview with Daily Mail, the radio personality admitted she wished she’d spent more individual time with Bear, but felt her initial interaction with him was sufficient.

She admitted she still hadn’t had a private moment with him, but felt their brief, charming interaction on the red carpet gave her hope for a connection.

Bianca mentioned that the couple had a private, tender moment together on the red carpet, but it wasn’t shown on television.

Bianca shared that while not everything from the red carpet is public, she and another person actually performed a song together.

She added that the cute moment was left on the cutting room floor due to copyright concerns.

Bianca explained that she mentioned she enjoyed karaoke and worked as a radio announcer, and then he asked her, “What’s your favorite song?”

I told someone Old Time Rock and Roll was my go-to karaoke choice, and when they asked how it went, I immediately started singing it.

I mentioned my dad was a musician and that we used to sing the song together in the car, and Bear immediately joined in.

Bianca expressed disappointment that viewers missed the spontaneous and candid moment. 

Honestly, watching it back was just incredibly funny! I had this moment thinking, ‘This is amazing – the singing, the connection… this has to be love!’ Then it hit me – the producers had specifically told us we weren’t allowed to sing on the show. The contrast was priceless, and looking back, it’s a really memorable moment.

We had a playful and fun connection on the red carpet, and I hoped that would be enough to help me get through the event.

Bianca certainly appeared confident upon meeting Bear, declaring him to be a ‘spunk bubble.’

She playfully told the man she was interested in that he was a bit rough around the edges, but quickly added that she found him very attractive. Turning to the camera, she warned other women that she was now pursuing him.

Bianca’s initial bravado waned when it came time for the cocktail party.

She confessed she felt like a teenager again, ignored by the guy she liked, and also shared that she was experiencing hot flashes.

‘It’s triggering everything in me,’ she tearfully admitted to the camera.

I’m overwhelmed by past failures, and it’s making me doubt myself right now. This feels like a crucial moment, and I’m worried I’ll let fear hold me back – again.

‘He’s not going to get a connection with you. He’s just going to say, “She’s the loud, silly one.”‘

Bianca explained that her reluctance to confront Bear stemmed from a mix of pride and self-doubt.

She added that producers had to intervene to remind her what was at stake.

They told me that if I didn’t pursue a connection with him – if I didn’t make an effort to get close and he didn’t reciprocate – I wouldn’t receive a rose,” she explained.

I felt really anxious and told someone I needed to use the restroom urgently. I ended up sitting there for about ten minutes, trying to calm myself down and get a grip.

Bianca was hesitant to approach Bear at first because she found him incredibly attractive.

‘He’s definitely a swipe right kind of guy on the apps,’ she said.

He’s incredibly charming – they made a great choice! He’s tall, handsome, and has an intriguing air about him, which I find very attractive. He’s reserved, but not in a cold way – it just adds to his appeal.

Okay, let’s talk attraction! I’ve always said, a little bit of mystery is so appealing. There’s just something incredibly magnetic about a man who doesn’t lay all his cards on the table immediately. It’s that exciting, slightly elusive quality that really draws you in – that undeniable spark.
