The latest installment in the Knives Out series, Wake Up Dead Man, is particularly frightening. A chilling scream from Glenn Close’s character was so effective it actually startled someone on the set.
Rian Johnson’s latest whodunit, now playing in theaters, features a fresh group of intriguing characters investigating the seemingly impossible death of Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, played by Josh Brolin.
Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) believes that while Father Jud, played by Josh O’Connor, is the main suspect, many of Miles Bron’s devoted supporters could also be involved.

The cast recently shared with Digital Spy some of the most frightening experiences they had while filming, often caused by the character Martha Delacroix, played by Close.
With each new announcement, Martha would dramatically scream, surprising everyone in the church, and even startling Cinnamon, Kerry Washington’s cute Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix.

Cailee Spaeny, who plays Simone Viviane, described her scream in the film as a classic ‘Scream Queen’ moment. She explained that she’s practiced it quite a bit and has really perfected it.
Mila Kunis, who plays the role of police chief Geraldine, said she wasn’t sure if the actress had ever screamed like that before.
It wasn’t a rough or shocking sound, but definitely chilling. I wasn’t necessarily scared, but I found it funny. Kerry Washington added that she was startled, and so was her dog, Cinnamon. She recalled a moment during filming when Cinnamon reacted so strongly, she had to be removed from the set.
Denzel Washington stars as Vera Draven, a lawyer with a personal link to Wicks. The film also features Daryl McCormack as Cy Draven, Andrew Scott as Lee Ross, Jeremy Renner as Dr. Nat Sharp, and Thomas Haden Church as Samson Holt.
Even with a few sudden surprises, it seems like the cast – and hopefully Cinnamon – really enjoyed filming on Johnson’s busy set.

Scott complimented the director on building a welcoming atmosphere for the cast, explaining that the director excels at creating a strong team dynamic, which is a hallmark of these movies.
He makes sure new people feel welcome because it can be intimidating joining a set full of experienced actors. It’s natural to worry about not being able to perform well or keep up with everyone.
The atmosphere on set was truly wonderful, and everyone worked together beautifully. McCormack also expressed his strong support for the director’s creative vision, stating that collaborating with him was an easy decision.
I never expected to be working on a Rian Johnson film this year, but I’ve always admired his work. It’s a fantastic opportunity, and I think everyone will agree.
He’s created a truly special and one-of-a-kind experience with these movies, and it’s a pleasure to watch. Plus, the strong teamwork makes it a great opportunity for any actor involved.
The new mystery film, Wake Up Dead Man, is currently playing in some theaters and will be available to stream on Netflix starting December 12th.
