How did Dota 2 7.37 patch changed Roshan? – Find out here

As a seasoned Dota 2 player with countless hours spent in the battlefield, I must say that the recent 7.37 patch has brought about an exciting twist to the game. Roshan, the iconic Ancient, hasn’t been buffed or nerfed per se, but the changes made to his interactions and timings have opened up a whole new strategy for early-game enthusiasts like me.

With the recent Dota 2 7.37 update, it’s more engaging to contest for Roshan sooner, as he now boasts some minor yet beneficial alterations.

An unexpected, yet warmly welcomed, update has been released for Dota 2! The latest version, 7.37, introduces modifications to Roshan’s timing, rewards, and interactions with other heroes. While the adjustments to characters, items, and overall game mechanics are grabbing attention, it’s crucial to consider how these changes impact the game as a whole.

Roshan determines the course of the late-game matches. But, grabbing this objective early doesn’t yield much benefit unless you have Slardar, Ursa, or Huskar in your team. However, recent changes suggest that players might be able to exploit him earlier in the game.

What are Roshan’s changes in Dota 2 Patch 7.37?

Roshan didn’t get any unique boost or reduction in power. Nevertheless, there are four distinct modifications that make defeating him earlier in the game more engaging. These include:

  • Roshan now always drops “Roshan’s Banner” starting from his second death. You don’t need to do it on Radiant’s side anymore.
  • Starting from his third death, the extra rewards are given as follows: Refresher Shard and Cheese during daytime (Radiant), Aghanim’s Blessing during nightime (Dire).
  • Roshan’s Banner radius increased from 600 to 650
  • Teleporting to Roshan’s outposts now take four seconds, instead of six.

The fourth change works better in situations where contesting with a buyback is the only option.

New hero interactions with Roshan

In the latest update, Dota 2’s patch 7.37, new ways for certain heroes to interact with Roshan have been introduced. If your game plan relies on controlling this objective, be sure to select those specific characters.

  • Death Prophet: Now able to target Roshan (and Tormentors) with the Spirit Siphon
  • Elder Titan: His new innate ability buffs allied creeps affected by Roshan’s Banner (or Glyph of Fortification, including towers) with 100% bonus damage.
  • Templar Assassin: Her new innate ability, Third Eye, allows the whole team to see Roshan’s respawn timer. On the other hand, Psionic traps no longer provide vision inside the pit.
