Alan Carr joined Celebrity Traitors expecting some fun, but he ended up winning the entire competition! He beat out popular rugby player Joe Marler and fellow Traitor Cat Burns to take home the crown last night.
Oh my gosh, apparently one of his friends told me he only did the show because he thought it would be a fun way to kill time! Can you believe it? He literally said the idea of just being in a castle was enough to make him sign up! It’s just…so him, you know? Totally adorable and completely unexpected!
He also expected to get very drunk and thought he’d be heading home early that night.
Before learning he’d won and secured £87,500 for charity, Alan Carr joked that his experience on the show proved he was a surprisingly good liar and a skilled ‘Traitor’.
Many fans had the ending of the show ruined when a Canadian streaming service accidentally released the final episode yesterday morning. It was taken down after about 90 minutes, but not before some people had seen it. The BBC has asked anyone who saw the leaked episode to please not share any details about what happens.
An investigation will be conducted to determine how this mistake happened. Carr won after weeks of the BBC One show keeping its 14 million viewers in suspense as the celebrities competed against each other.
Since filming wrapped up over the summer at Ardross Castle in Scotland, the outcome of the show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has remained a closely guarded secret.
Carr’s start as a Traitor was rocky, according to viewers. He seemed unable to keep the game a secret, and his fellow Traitor, Jonathan Ross, was concerned he would reveal himself.

You can hardly blame Ross; even Carr’s friends blabbed to me a week ago that he had won.
Everyone was surprised to learn Alan might be a traitor. He was known as a really funny and outgoing person, and seemed to have no hidden depths. He was consistently cheerful and made everyone laugh.
Alan was a follower, not a leader. He didn’t initiate the accusations of betrayal that could get people removed from the show, but he readily joined in once someone else had already started.
Honestly, I was shocked when he turned on Paloma Faith. It was someone he clearly had a close bond with, and to see him ‘eliminate’ her right in front of everyone was just… brutal. It felt like a real betrayal, especially given how much trust they seemed to share.
Faith, being a good pal of his outside of the castle, was stunned at his lack of loyalty.
Carr seemed to become increasingly fascinated with the murders, to the point that a friend described him as being most excited when discussing them.
‘He found his groove,’ they said. ‘That ruthless, competitive streak came out.’
The final episode began with each of the finalists reflecting on their performance on the show.

Carr admitted he began the game feeling very anxious. He confessed to betraying close friends and publicly attacking beloved figures, realizing he was a more skilled liar and traitor than he’d previously believed.
Marler shared that being in the final of The Traitors was actually more nerve-wracking than playing for the England rugby team.
Alan Carr was celebrating his victory last night, with friends Amanda Holden and Adele reportedly thrilled for him. He was so convinced he wouldn’t win that he’d told loved ones he’d be in touch in a few days before traveling to Scotland.
When Alan entered the castle in June, he competed against well-known figures like TV presenter Kate Garraway, singer Charlotte Church, and historian David Olusoga. One fellow contestant said, ‘Everyone liked him, but no one expected him to make it to the final.’
He joined four other finalists: Marler, Burns, actor Nick Mohammed and Olusoga.
Let me tell you about Alan Carr – you probably recognize that infectious, high-pitched laugh! He really burst onto the scene in 2006 when he started co-hosting ‘The Friday Night Project’ on Channel 4 with Justin Lee Collins. It was a hilarious show, and that’s where a lot of people first fell in love with his unique style of comedy.
Alan Carr quickly became well-known, thanks to appearances on the comedy show 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He later became a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019. Before that, from 2009 to 2012, he hosted the Radio 2 Saturday night program, Going Out With Alan Carr.
Although Kevin Carr wasn’t raised in the entertainment industry, he came from a family famous for football.

He’s the son of Graham Carr, a former player and head coach for Northampton Town. Carr played for the team in the 1960s and later led it as coach.
Carr’s impressive victory last night likely eases the disappointment of not being chosen as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year. He was reportedly upset when Bruno Tonioli, a former judge on Strictly Come Dancing, got the position instead.
So what’s next for Carr, the first winner of Celebrity Traitors?
According to someone involved with the show, viewers really enjoy Alan. A BBC source believes he was a standout performer and a favorite among those watching ‘The Traitors’.
He’s now being considered as a possible replacement for Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, who recently stepped down as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing.
According to a source, he’s likely to land a major new job – and the hint is that it could be with ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on the BBC.
There is even talk of a new chat show.
According to a BBC insider, Alan was already well-known, but his time spent at a Scottish castle has significantly boosted his career. They added, ‘We’ve signed him now.’
