I’m hoping they start filming in 2026, but if they’re aiming for a 2028 release, it sounds like they won’t even begin production again until Spring of 2027, which feels like a really long wait!

Even if House of the Dragon is fantastic, long delays could still hurt its lasting impact. The bigger risk is losing viewers’ interest while they wait, meaning fewer people will be around to appreciate the show later on. This is a growing issue for many TV series, and it’s become a particularly bad habit in Hollywood since the pandemic. A show’s ability to stay popular over time is incredibly important, and it needs to be a priority.
