Good news for Game of Thrones fans! HBO has announced that both House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be back for more. House of the Dragon has been renewed for a fourth season, following its already-planned third, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been given a second season order even before its first episodes air.
I was really excited to hear from HBO’s Casey Bloys at their presentation in New York! He announced that both of the Game of Thrones spinoffs have been renewed, which means we’ll be getting more of those stories all the way through 2028. As a big fan, that’s fantastic news!
HBO is excited to announce new seasons of both House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms over the next three years, offering more content for fans of the Game of Thrones world,” said Francesca Orsi, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films. “These shows demonstrate the incredible depth and imagination of George R.R. Martin’s universe.
HBO will debut a new half-hour drama, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, in January. The third season of House of the Dragon isn’t expected until summer 2026.
According to Orsi, viewers will likely enjoy the heartwarming story of Dunk and Egg coming in January, which George and Ira Parker have portrayed wonderfully. Then, this summer, House of the Dragon promises even more spectacular battles.
