Hotel Barcelona Gets Offbeat Gameplay Ahead of 2025 Launch, and it Looks Bonkers

The developers of both CULT Games and “The Good Life” – White Owls Inc – have shared the first footage of gameplay for their upcoming collaboration titled “Hotel Barcelona“, a project by Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda and Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro.)

In simpler terms, the game titled “Hotel Barcelona” appears as vibrantly trippy and off-kilter as you’d anticipate from Suda (known for games such as “Lollipop Chainsaw”, “No More Heroes”, and “Shadows of the Damned”) and Swery (renowned for games like “Deadly Premonition”, “D4”, and “The Missing”), whose creations are always unique in their own way.

Hotel Barcelona offers an extraordinary, mind-twisting experience as it transports you across seven nightmarish realms, where a hotel housing serial killers becomes your prison. As U.S. Marshal Justine, who unknowingly harbors the spirit of the notorious psychotic serial killer Dr. Carnival within, your mission is to escape this bloodthirsty hotel by carving a path through hordes of vicious minions and towering bosses.

Hotel Barcelona offers a 3-player online cooperative play option, along with single player mode, and an exciting Player versus Player (PvP) feature that lets you disrupt your friends’ games. Additionally, you can have up to four spectral echoes of your unsuccessful attempts that can inflict damage or serve as decoys, making the game progressively easier with each try. By amassing the blood of vanquished enemies, you can unlock a powerful ‘Carnival Awakening’ special attack, which also enhances your own inner killer instinct.
