Hot Tub Time Machine 3 Gets Exciting Update

It’s been a decade since the movie first came out. Although a sequel hasn’t been officially confirmed, Craig Robinson, who starred in the original, recently shared some positive news about the possibility of a follow-up to the 2015 time travel comedy.

The movie, about four friends who travel back to 1986 in a hot tub, did reasonably well in theaters in 2010, earning $65 million on a $36 million budget. Because of strong DVD and Blu-ray sales, the studio quickly decided to make a sequel, which came out in 2015 as Hot Tub Time Machine 2. However, the sequel wasn’t successful with critics or audiences, earning only $12.3 million domestically – less than the original film made in its opening weekend ($14 million).

The poor performance of Hot Tub Time Machine 2 likely stalled plans for a third film. However, Rob Corddry recently hinted that Hot Tub Time Machine 3 is prepared to film, suggesting a script already exists. In 2022, he told CinemaBlend that while there hadn’t been much discussion about a sequel, screenwriter Josh Heald had a fantastic idea for a third movie that he was eager to explore.

Two years after the second movie, writer Adam Heald told Syfy that a third Hot Tub Time Machine film is planned and will involve exploring the multiverse. He also mentioned that the first two movies are still popular on streaming platforms. Because of this success, and how other comedies have moved to streaming for sequels, Hot Tub Time Machine 3 might end up being released directly to streaming as well.

What Is In Your Dreams?

If you’re a fan of Rob Corddry, keep an eye on Netflix! His new animated movie, In Your Dreams, will be available starting November 14th. The film tells the story of a brother and sister who enter their dreams to find the Sandman and wish for the ideal family. Corddry voices the character of Baloney Tony, described as a beloved childhood toy in the movie’s trailer. While we wait for Hot Tub Time Machine 3, In Your Dreams is a great way to enjoy Corddry’s work. He co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Benson.

In Your Dreams will be released in select theaters on Nov. 7, ahead of its Netflix debut on Nov. 14.
