Horror anthology series The Terror officially returning for third season with Dan Stevens
As a huge fan of horror series, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that AMC’s anthology series “The Terror” would be returning for a third season in 2025. The first two seasons of this show have left me absolutely spellbound with their chilling storylines and exceptional execution.
As a passionate gamer and avid fan of The Terror series by AMC Networks, I’m thrilled to share that we’ll be returning for a chilling third season! In the first person, it feels like: “I can’t believe it! The Terror is coming back for a spine-tingling season three with six episodes in total. Mark your calendars for 2025 when this horror anthology series will once again haunt our screens on AMC and AMC+.”
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “In the game world of ‘The Terror: Devil in Silver,’ I’m excited to dive into a story inspired by Victor LaValle’s best-selling horror novel, ‘The Devil in Silver.’ It’s not just a fan experience, but I get to be part of it as Victor himself is involved. He’s co-executive producing and co-writing the series, alongside Chris Cantwell from ‘Halt and Catch Fire.’ Karyn Kusama, known for her work on ‘Jennifer’s Body,’ ‘The Invitation,’ and two episodes of ‘Yellowjackets,’ is at the helm as she directs the first two episodes and co-executive produces. With such a talented team, I can’t wait to see what they bring to life in this horror adventure.”
In addition, Dan Stevens takes on the role of executive producer for this production, where he also stars as the character Pepper. Pepper is an ordinary blue-collar man who unfortunately ends up in New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital, a facility housing individuals whom society tends to overlook.
At New Hyde, the patients pose a challenge for the staff, harboring hidden dangers and keeping lethal secrets. An ominous creature haunts the facility, coming close to claiming the life of newcomer Pepper during his initial night. When fellow inmates verify this beast’s existence, Pepper is compelled to devise a strategy to eliminate it. However, this endeavor might force him to confront his deepest fears.
Stevens characterizes “The Terror: Devil in Silver” as a “haunting blend of psychological terror and compelling storyline,” which is likewise fitting for the initial two seasons of “The Terror.”
The production team behind the project boasts some big names in the industry. Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker from Scott Free Productions join forces with Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lamber of Emjag Productions, Guymon Casady from Entertainment 360, and Brooke Kennedy. We’ve got some serious talent on board!
What were the first two seasons of The Terror about?
In the first season of The Terror, the story revolved around two British naval exploratory vessels, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. As they ventured into unexplored waters in their quest for the Northwest Passage, they encountered a dangerous predicament – becoming trapped in ice. The crew faced not only harsh weather conditions but also internal strife and an unidentified threat.
In the second season, titled “The Terror: Infamy“, the story is set during World War II in the United States. A Japanese entity capable of transforming into different shapes, referred to as a bakemono, poses a threat to a Japanese-American community. This danger extends from their homes in Southern California, all the way to the internment camps, and even into the war in the Pacific.
