Horrifying update in death of Dog the Bounty Hunter’s grandson, 13, after teen accidentally shot by his father
Disturbing fresh insights have surfaced concerning the tragic fatal shooting of Duane Chapman’s grandson, who was only 13 years old and famously known for his role in Dog the Bounty Hunter.
On a Saturday evening, tragedy struck at the family apartment in Naples as Gregory, the son of Francie (Chapman’s wife), unintentionally shot and fatally wounded his own son, Anthony Zecca.
According to a report from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, as published by DailyMail.com, Zecca was fatally shot in his neck, slightly above his chest (sternum), with no visible exit wound.
By the time law enforcement reached the scene, Zecca had already lost a significant amount of blood. Tragically, efforts to revive him through CPR and chest compressions proved unsuccessful.
At 8:08 PM Eastern Time, deputies were called out due to a gunfire incident, and unfortunately, Zecca was confirmed deceased at 8:21 PM ET.
The firearm used in the shooting was on the kitchen counter when deputies arrived.

According to a representative from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call about this incident at 8:08 PM. This event appears to be an isolated occurrence.
Our investigators are meticulously examining every detail related to this unfortunate event, ensuring they leave no stone unturned.
As a diligent observer, I’m part of an inquiry that involves gathering testimonies from eyewitnesses present at the crime scene, conducting forensic examinations, issuing subpoenas for relevant documents or individuals, and executing search warrants to gather evidence.
It appears that Gregory, Francie’s child from a prior relationship, often works alongside his stepfather, Duane, in their joint bounty hunting operation.
It’s worth noting that he has a keen interest in firearms, as evidenced by the pictures he posted back in 2021, showing him and his late son enjoying target practice at the shooting range with their rifles.
Gregory has now disabled his social media accounts.
Duane and Francie, 56, who is his sixth wife, addressed the terrible loss in a statement.
As a family, we’re deeply mourning the heartbreaking, inexplicable accident that took the life of our cherished grandson, Anthony. We kindly request your ongoing support through prayers as we navigate this difficult period of grief.

DailyMail.com requested comment from Duane’s representative but hasn’t yet received a response.
Previously, Anthony spent his summer vacation with his grandparents, sharing a tale from the following year where he claimed to have sensed the breeze of the Divine Spirit during his visit to his grandmother in the emergency room of the hospital, following her ankle injury in 2023.
In my role as a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself seated on a bench inside a cozy waiting area, where all of a sudden, an unexpected chill swept through the room on what appeared to be a balmy, drizzly afternoon.
As I stroll towards her room, I sense the wind once more, though now it’s blowing from an alternate angle. At its initial appearance, it struck me square on my chest. Yet, when it returned, it blew against my back, leaving the young Christian in awe.
I find myself questioning, “What could be causing this sudden gust of wind since the doors didn’t open this time?” It turned out to be a mysterious presence – the Holy Spirit. I even asked Meemaw, who confirmed, “Yes, it was the Holy Spirit.
After some X-rays and a prayer, we returned to the room to find Francie in good health. She exclaimed, “I no longer feel any pain at all.” It transpired that there was no fracture involved.

Instead of immersing myself solely in military matters or religious studies, I found joy in grooving to the rhythm of Usher’s tunes and participating in local Comic Con events, even striking a pose next to the iconic Predator figure.
The Chapmans — who began dating in 2020 — first bonded over their shared grief about being widowed.
In my capacity as a lifestyle expert, I’ve personally experienced the heartbreaking loss of a partner – mine being in 2018, while another dear friend lost their spouse in 2019. Each case involved stage II throat cancer taking away our beloved spouses, Beth Smith and Bob Frane respectively.
In difficult times and moments, she shared with ET in 2020, we empathized with each other’s struggles, providing support to help one another stay strong.
Sharing tears and conversations about our feelings, we found solace in supporting one another during difficult times. Together, we navigated the pain and sorrow, which ultimately strengthened our bond in a remarkable fashion.
The mourning couple will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary on September 2.
