Recent court documents filed by Sony in its lawsuit against Tencent – regarding claims that Tencent’s game, Light of Motiram, copies Horizon Zero Dawn – have revealed details about a planned Horizon movie. Asad Qizilbash, who leads PlayStation Productions, stated in these documents that the movie’s script is already finished.

In addition to the script being completed, the document indicated that Sony intends to start filming next year, aiming for a 2027 release date.

According to a statement, a Horizon movie is in the works with Columbia Pictures. They have a completed script and are currently looking for a director, aiming to begin filming in 2026 and release the film in 2027. This project builds on the successful collaborations between Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions, who previously made the films *Uncharted* (2022) and *Gran Turismo* (2023).
