Honor of Kings KPL Growth League (KGL) Summer 2025 kicks off across three Chinese venues
According to the esports plan for 2025, Honor of Kings is about to launch a new esports tournament. This upcoming event is known as the Honor of Kings KPL Growth League (KGL) Summer 2025, and it’s scheduled to begin in June.
This year marks the 11th season of the second division league tournament for the game, but unfortunately, the team that won last season is not competing. TiMi Studios and Hero Esports are collaborating to host this event. It will be played out in three different locations throughout China.
Honor of Kings KGL Summer 2025: Schedule and Format
The big day for our event is set for June 16, 2025. This duration extends until August 24, 2025. We’ll be using a double round-robin format for the matches, each consisting of five games. The top eight teams will qualify for the Playoffs.
In this tournament setup, the leading four teams will compete in the “Upper Bracket,” while the fifth through eighth place teams will face off in the “Lower Bracket.” The bottom four teams will unfortunately not advance any further. Excitingly, the playoffs are set to commence on September 1st, 2025. Notably, every match in this double-elimination bracket will be a best-of-seven series.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the top four squads will battle it out in the elite upper bracket, while the lower four teams will face off in the challenging lower bracket. Following the conclusion of the second round, the Grand Finals are set for the 13th of September, 2025. The two remaining teams will engage in a thrilling BO7 showdown, and the victor will proudly lift the trophy aloft.
