Home and Away star Luke Jacobz welcomes second child with wife Raychel: ‘We are all so in love’

Luke Jacobz shared some happy news this week, announcing the birth of his second child with his wife, Raychel.

The couple was surprised and delighted to learn they had conceived naturally. They had originally tried IVF to have their first daughter, Maisie.

Monday marked the big day, as Luke and Raychel welcomed a baby boy to their growing brood 

Oh my gosh, you guys, Luke just posted the cutest pictures on Instagram! Seriously, I’m dying! He shared a bunch of photos of the baby’s first few hours, and they are just the sweetest thing EVER. I’ve been refreshing the page non-stop, and I can’t even handle the cuteness!

Photos showed Luke very much in doting dad mode, proudly beaming as he cradled his son in his arms.

Another adorable photo showed daughter Maisie bonding with her baby brother.

A third photo captured Luke’s obvious joy as he knelt beside Raychel, who was lovingly holding their baby.

Captioning the images, Luke revealed his son’s name and its sweet family connection. 

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our son, John James Scott! Our family of three has grown, and we’re already completely in love.

We decided to name our son after my father, as well as Raychel’s father and uncle. We wanted to honor the men who had a big impact on our lives and keep their memory alive.

Continuing, Luke paid tribute to his wife for the resilience she displayed during her pregnancy.

He told Raychel she was amazing, praising her courage, kindness, and unwavering commitment to finding Maisie a lifelong companion.

I was amazed by your inner strength, and I love you more than words can say. I promise to raise our son to be a kind, compassionate, and loving person who will always protect those he cares about.

‘He will carry the legacy of the great men he is named after.’

Luke’s post continued, with the actor addressing his newborn son directly.  

My son, JJ, means the world to me, and I couldn’t be prouder to be his dad. I wrote to him telling him we’re going to share an amazing journey together, and that we’ll always be there for his mum and sister, because they already adore him. It’s a promise of love and support for all of us.

‘I love you Raychel, thank you for giving me the honour to be your babies’ Dad.’

The post was inundated with messages of support and congratulations from friends and followers.

Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac simply said ‘glorious,’ and Better Homes and Gardens host Johanna Griggs offered ‘huge congratulations’ to everyone involved.

Todd Lasance, known for his role on Home and Away, shared his congratulations, saying, ‘Fantastic news, everyone! Congratulations!’

Comedian Tahir Bilgiç captured the joyful reaction of many, exclaiming, ‘I am SO happy for you both brother!!!!! Awesome news!’

In June, Luke told Woman’s Day he and Raychel were thrilled to have conceived a baby naturally.

‘We’re having a boy! We are just over the moon,’ he told the publication.

I was absolutely thrilled when we secured second place – I seriously jumped for joy and couldn’t contain my excitement! It felt so natural and amazing.

Luke and Raychel met in 2017 and started trying to have a baby in 2018, but they quickly faced a lot of emotional ups and downs.

Even though doctors said they were healthy and able to get pregnant, they had difficulty conceiving and ultimately chose to try IVF with the help of Adora Fertility.

Their path to parenthood was incredibly difficult, marked by several unsuccessful attempts at egg retrieval and embryo transfer, as well as the heartbreak of three early miscarriages.

After two COVID-related postponements of their wedding, the couple faced a tough choice: they had only one embryo remaining and decided to try one last transfer.

Incredibly, the transfer worked, and Raychel walked down the aisle four months pregnant.

We were completely shocked by what happened,” Luke explained. “It was so difficult that we almost gave up.
