Home and Away star is unrecognisable as she steps out with friends in Bondi
She’s the Aussie actress who plays fan-favourite Mackenzie Booth on iconic soap, Home and Away.
And Emily Weir looked almost unrecognisable this week, when she stepped out with friends in Bondi.
In her real life, the 34-year-old actress presents quite contrastingly to the stylish persona she portrays in her prolonged role on Channel Seven’s television show.
Emily opted for a laid-back look instead of her usual glamorous red-carpet style during her recent outing.
On a nippy Sydney day, Emily donned a lengthy, sandy-hued trench coat that fell just short of her ankles.
Or:
Emily braved the cold in Sydney by putting on a long, trench coat in a sandy tone that came down to below her knees.
Both sentences convey the same meaning but are slightly different in structure and word choice.

She added a pop of colour to her wintry look with a pair of eye-catching, high-waisted mauve jeans.
Emily matched her pants with a pair of equally colourful, retro-styled Adidas sneakers.
She accessorized her intriguing color scheme by donning a pair of sunglasses with lime green frames, which she wore on top of her head.
In a high bun, the actress arranged her dark hair too; some strands cascaded gracefully over her shoulders.
It seems like Emily and her friends had finished a morning exercise routine, as she was seen carrying a big gym bag on her shoulder.
She also accessorised with a large black leather cross-body bag.
Emily, sporting a cup of take-away coffee, appeared delighted to be among friends, the three of them engaged in lively discussion while meandering along.
Recently, Emily stunned fans by confessing that she and her co-star, Tristan Gorey, had contemplated departing from the renowned show.

The duo confessed that they had been deeply moved by the recent demise of the cherished character, Felicity Newman, portrayed by Jacqui Purvis.
In conversation with Yahoo Lifestyle, Emily shared that Mackenzie’s departure from Summer Bay should be under her control and decision.
Emily expressed, “I hope Mackenzie never perishes. I wish she would depart from the Bay, so it remains somewhere I can return to.
The attractive brunette mentioned that, if her on-screen persona was to meet an untimely end, she’d prefer it to be in a highly impactful and unforgettable way.
If given the chance, I’d prefer to engage in an intense fight, perhaps even a gun battle, or find myself in a situation that’s quite unusual. I’d enjoy performing martial arts moves, much like you’d see in a movie fight scene.
Simultaneously, Tristan, the actor portraying Dr. Levi Fowler, contemplated delving deeper into a more ominous side of his character prior to his possible departure.
In my professional opinion, Dr. Levi seems to have transitioned from a benign state to a menacing one, pursuing Mackenzie. However, it appears Mackenzie is fleeing in fear. Unfortunately, during the chase, Dr. Levi stumbles and falls, striking his head in the process.
In October the previous year, rumors about Emily possibly leaving began circulating, as fans noticed a concerning picture shared on social media.

They noticed Emily was on a big US holiday with former co-stars Sarah Roberts and Tim Franklin.
It has been said that Emily’s three-year contract for the series is about to end, causing some fans to wonder if her “vacation” might instead be a goodbye celebration.
In the year 2022, Emily openly disclosed that her prolonged battle with ‘debilitating anxiety’ eventually resulted in an alcohol dependency.
The actress admitted to Who magazine that she often relied on wine when dealing with panic attacks she experienced as a teenager, as she felt it was the only means of finding solace at the time.
‘The more you shine a light on anxiety and addiction, the less power it has,’ she said.
Although it may seem challenging, by expressing my thoughts openly, I wish to make clear to those who might be grappling with similar difficulties that these problems are widespread and can impact anyone. I am strongly committed to bringing attention to this issue that touches the lives of countless individuals like ourselves.
Emily mentioned that her first instances of anxiety and panic attacks occurred when she was 19 years old, not long after her parents’ separation.
She experienced something akin to a nervous collapse, unaware that it was anxiety, as it was rarely talked about during that era.

The actress admitted that she resorted to drinking as a means of handling stress, ultimately developing a dependence on it. After an especially chaotic evening, she was compelled to confront this issue.
She has since learned to manage her addiction with the help of AA and counselling.
In my experience, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have discovered the assistance that resonated with me so well. Everyone’s journey is unique, and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach when navigating challenges. However, I feel deeply grateful for having found a strategy that suits my needs effectively.
Emily landed her breakthrough role as restaurateur Mackenzie Booth on Home and Away in 2019.
