Home and Away Couple Share Adorable Throwback Photo After Becoming Parents
Rebecca Breeds recently honored her husband and former ‘Home And Away’ colleague, Luke Mitchell, with a heartwarming gesture.
The duo who played Ruby Buckton and Romeo Smith on Channel Seven’s soap opera discovered romance off-screen, with Luke proposing to his partner in 2012.
On a Thursday post on Instagram, Rebecca reminisced by sharing a charming old picture featuring her and someone else playfully posing during a film shoot.
In a photograph, Rebecca, aged 37, wearing her Summer Bay High school attire, struggled to suppress her chuckles while carrying her future partner on her back.
Luke, 39, meanwhile was sporting quite the cheeky expression as he held on tightly to Rebecca.
Reflecting upon our shared adventure as a duo, I took this moment to honor Luke’s knack for laughter, a cherished trait that brightens our journey even more.
‘My ride or die laughing,’ the actress wrote.
‘What an adventure we’re on. With all I am and all I have.’

The couple revealed that they were expecting their first child in November last year.
Since their wedding in 2013, the pair moved to the United States. In this new location, Rebecca landed roles like the famous Clarice Starling in the CBS adaptation of The Silence of the Lambs, titled Clarice, as well as portraying Nicole on Pretty Little Liars.
Moving across the pond was a dream come true for me, and it opened up incredible opportunities! I snagged parts on The CW’s Tomorrow People and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which felt like a fantasy come to life!
The lovebirds relocated back to Australia around three years ago.
In 2023, Rebecca told TV Week the move home had been ‘good for the soul.’
‘It’s been really, really nice just to ground ourselves and be back home,’ she said.
At last, I now have my own garden, a dream of mine for quite some time. It feels like we’re establishing deep connections again in our homestead, which has brought a profound sense of peace to my spirit.
She mentioned that having Luke with her significantly eased her time in the U.S.
She noted that it was incredibly comforting to have someone serve as both a steadfast support and familiar sanctuary during such a challenging period of uprooting oneself from all that was previously known.
‘Our industry has a lot of pressure and a lot of highs and a lot of lows. It can be very lonely.’
