Home Alone is coming to life this Christmas in free London experience

As a gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia, I can’t help but feel like Christmas has come early with the announcement of the Home Alone live experience. Growing up, this movie was a staple during the holiday season, and the thought of stepping into Kevin McCallister’s shoes (or sneakers) is beyond exciting!

The film remains a perennial festive classic, with fans still finding intricate details in legendary screenwriter John Hughes’ script decades later.

Currently, enthusiasts have an opportunity to take part in a live event reminiscent of Kevin McCallister’s do-it-yourself retaliation against the Wet Bandits, based on the iconic 1990 film.

Disney+ positions itself as the streaming residence for “Home Alone” by rebuilding three iconic film sets from the movie in Shoreditch, London.

Guests will explore the McCallister residence, taking in its living room, stairway, corridor, and bedroom. Each space has been adorned with holiday decorations reminiscent of those seen in the movie.

In every room, a photographer has been stationed to capture images of attendees posing by the McCallisters’ festive Christmas tree or standing near the notorious staircase where Kevin once harassed the Wet Bandits.

At this event, visitors can don costumes similar to the Wet Bandits or take photos near some of the famous traps set by Kevin as a fun tribute to the movie.

Starting today at 10am (November 14), I’m excited to share that I have the opportunity to pre-book my free tickets for an exclusive event happening just once on November 28, 2024! Mark your calendars because this event is from 1pm to 10pm. To make sure you don’t miss out, remember that only adults aged 18 and above will be allowed entry. Click here to secure your spot!

Before the actual event, Disney+ subscribers have the option to watch both the original 1990 movie “Home Alone” and its sequel titled “Home Sweet Home Alone” online in advance.

2021’s follow-up featured Archie Yates, from “Jojo Rabbit,” portraying Max Mercer, a 10-year-old boy caught in a conflict with Jeff and Pam McKenzie (Rob Delaney and Ellie Kemper) over a prized doll of great worth.

This comedy show includes Aisling Bea from Taskmaster, comedian Kenan Thompson, and Timothy Simons known for Veep, among its talented ensemble of actors.
