Hololive’s Epic New Game Holoearth Gets Mind-Blowing Anime Trailer by Spy x Family Studio!

A highly anticipated new video game venture from the globally recognized Virtual YouTuber agency is currently in development. The animation studio Wit Studio, known for its work on “Attack on Titan,” has beautifully realized the gaming ideas of Hololive in an impressive animated teaser.

Wit Studio, the Japanese animation powerhouse behind the initial seasons of “Attack on Titan” and more recently, created a sneak peek for Hololive’s upcoming video game venture called “Holoearth.” The short animation portrays a realm where a disinterested girl is magically transported into a magical world brimming with enchantment, discovering purpose in her once mundane existence. This ordinary girl now known as “Pathfinder,” is joined by an instructional sidekick robot and a digitally stunning companion reminiscent of the famed Hololive characters.

The Holoearth project is a promising video game under development for the Metaverse, primarily focusing on customization and exploration. In essence, it’s an expansive game world where personalization takes center stage, similar to recent releases like Cyberpunk 2077. Just as in these types of games, players in Holoearth have the freedom to design their own virtual characters and style them according to their preferences.

What makes Holoearth unique among other Metaverse projects is its emphasis on player interaction, stemming from the company’s established success in the Virtual YouTuber sector. As the tagline highlights, “This is a world that thrives on your attention.” In Holoearth, players can interact and socialize with each other during daily routines or special occasions, as hinted at in the anime teaser. Notably, virtual concerts by the company’s top artists have emerged as a significant draw for the project.

On December 26, 2022, Mori Calliope from Hololive EN and AZKi from Hololive JP were the pioneers to perform live through Holoearth for the first time. A follow-up concert was arranged for July 15, 2023, which will include Shirakami Fubuki, Sakura Miko, Nakiri Ayame, and Ookami Mio.

Even though you can download Holoearth now, the Metaverse project is currently in its initial stages of creation. However, by providing additional creator tools and avatar customization options, it has moved one step closer to realizing its ultimate vision. Moreover, upcoming updates are expected to introduce survival crafting gameplay aspects similar to Minecraft, a favorite among many Hololive personalities and their followers.

In February 2025, a special event held to commemorate a new server catapulted one of Hololine’s most prominent streamers, Usada Pekora, to the number one spot on the viewership charts. This Japanese Hololine streamer, who was shortlisted for Content Creator of the Year at The Game Awards 2024, garnered the highest viewership in February. Not far behind, another Hololine talent, Sakura Miko, also saw significant growth due to this Minecraft event. Rounding out the top three was Kikirara Vivi from Hololine DEV_IS, who managed an impressive fourth place as the fourth most-watched VTuber of the month – a remarkable feat considering she had only been with the company for a short while.
