Now, popular actor John Cena has expressed that he finds Victoria’s city to be the “top spot in the globe” for enjoying a cup of flat white coffee.

In 2023, during the filming of Ricky Stanicky, the famed actor and former wrestler, known for his coffee appreciation, often visited cafes in Melbourne.

The stylish individual proclaimed in a widely-shared video on Reddit that Melbourne is renowned for its coffee culture.

In a TikTok video, originally created by Bon Appétit magazine, John Cena can be seen savoring a cup of coffee at the Condé Nast café located in New York City.

In terms of coffee, John Cena is particular about his choices. As the actor himself puts it, he evaluates a coffee shop based on their preparation of flat whites.

In a casual, easy-to-understand manner, Cena remarks that the coffee served during the tasting was more like an American interpretation of a Flat White.

‘I can tell cause it’s too big and there’s too much milk and the milk’s not steamed,’ he explains.

He goes on to say, ‘What draws me to a flat white is that coffee serves as a global language. Therefore, I evaluate places primarily on their ability to make a good flat white.’

Cena said he divides cafes into two categories.

‘A lot of places are food first and coffee is an accoutrement,’ he said.

Following his assessment that the Condé Nast cafe doesn’t prioritize coffee above all else, Cena stated, ‘I’ve found the best flat whites are in Melbourne, Australia – they truly are a city that values coffee first and foremost.’

In another part of the video, John Cena detailed the optimal method for making a flat white. He suggested that a serving size of approximately six ounces or 170 grams would provide a more robust coffee flavor due to the inclusion of a double shot.

The Reddit post titled “Melbourne coffee earning recognition” has garnered over 4,400 views and sparked approximately 300 comments.

‘This man knows his coffee,’ one user wrote on the thread.

Another commented, “I can only confirm that the flat whites in America were extremely milky, even in smaller cups.

A third user commented, ‘That is top-tier coffee wan**ry. Well done John Cena.’ 

During the breaks from filming Ricky Stanicky in Melbourne back in February 2023, Cena was frequently seen around town, joining his fellow cast members Zac Efron and Jim Carrey on their downtime.

The WWE great was seen at local restaurants and cafés, according to the Herald Sun.

The waiter from Degraves Esppresso stated that, with the exception of Thursdays, he would regularly show up and he was often serving this particular individual.

‘I’ve respected his space and he’s been a very good customer… He’s welcome back anytime.’

She added that one day, Cena simply strolled in and took a seat. This seemed to imply that an increasing number of people are visiting mainly to catch a glimpse of him.
