Hollywood star-fronted “quickly engrossing” thriller lands new UK streaming home

Uma Thurman’s Apple TV+ thriller Suspicion will be available to stream for free in the UK.

2022 saw the debut of a series, produced by Rob Williams, which unfortunately ended after only one season. This drama revolves around Katherine Newman, portrayed by Thurman, a powerful American media figure, whose son gets kidnapped in London.

The police have named five individuals, three males and two females, whose lives are thrown into chaos as they are interrogated regarding a missing child case.

Starting 15th June, viewers in the UK can enjoy watching the full series on ITVX.

The program features actors such as Kunal Nayyar from “The Big Bang Theory”, Georgina Campbell known for “Barbarian”, Lydia West of “Big Mood”, along with Elyes Gabel and Elizabeth Henstridge, in its cast.

The television series Suspicion garnered mixed feedback upon its debut and has a rather modest critical rating of 48% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 29 reviews. On the other hand, audiences were less impressed, giving it an approval rating of merely 26% on the aggregate site.

As a dedicated gamer, I can confidently say that the gaming community and top critics alike have raved about the fast-paced nature of this series. To put it in my own words, “The Sydney Morning Herald” aptly described the game Suspicion as “rapidly captivating,” which perfectly encapsulates my experience diving into its immersive world.

“The pace remains quick but the action remains coherent… Quickly engrossing,” their review reads.

In simpler terms, The Independent’s critique of the series suggests that effective television is created when it employs the narrative devices it has available, instead of merely chopping up a story and hoping audiences can piece it together.

In a similar vein, Vulture pointed out that the series was disjointed, as it often boasted of being intelligent and virtuous, yet failed to substantiate these claims throughout its eight episodes.

In the upcoming chapter of “The Old Guard” sequel on Netflix, I’ll be stepping into the shoes of the lead villain, alongside stars like Charlize Theron, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Henry Golding. Can’t wait to bring this character to life!

Suspicion will stream on ITVX in the UK from 15 June.

The first print issue from Digital Spy has arrived! Grab your copy of British Comedy Legends at local newsagents or online stores, available now for just £7.99.
