Hollywood sensation Sydney Sweeney switches the spotlight for the garage as she looks to bring out her own range of spanners and polish

It’s common for celebrities to launch their own products, like perfumes, makeup, or clothing lines.

Despite being a rising star in Hollywood, Sydney Sweeney is surprisingly venturing into a different world – she’s planning to launch her own line of tools, including wrenches and polishing products.

The car mad star has enjoyed a lucrative ad deal with car giant Ford to plug the firm’s motors.

She’s filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office to legally protect her name from being used on various car-related products.

Government lawyers are still reviewing the application, which features a logo of two bolts shaped like a heart.

Sydney, a 28-year-old from Washington state, is planning to sell a range of car-related products. This includes tools like wrenches and socket sets, as well as cleaning supplies such as wax and polish, and items like air fresheners.

The application indicates she plans to sell a range of clothing, including coveralls, sweatshirts, hats, t-shirts, jackets, graphic tees, and hooded sweatshirts.

Sydney is not afraid to get her hands dirty.

She purchased a red 1969 Ford Bronco in 2021, but it wasn’t working properly, so she decided to try and fix it herself.

‘I come from a family of mechanics,’ she said of the car. ‘I was the only girl in the shop.

I always dreamed of owning a classic Ford Bronco. I was determined to restore one myself, and I wanted to do all the work personally, so that’s exactly what I did.

‘I hope other women see my passion for cars and want to follow their own passions too.’

The celebrity shared that she rebuilt the car using parts found on eBay, and she posted the whole process on TikTok at @syds_garage.

In a video, she described how she replaced the car’s standard stick shift with an automatic transmission to make it simpler to drive every day.

She also a put in a new suspension and a set of brakes.

Sweeney started Syd’s Garage at the very beginning of the Covid pandemic while she was restoring a 1969 Ford Bronco.

As the renovations progressed, she started to understand how she could inspire other women who loved cars, or simply appreciated the classic look of vehicles like a Ford Mustang.

As someone passionate about creating opportunities for everyone, I was really driven to uplift and champion women in this industry. Let’s be honest, it’s historically been a space where men have held most of the power, and I wanted to help change that.

Later in 2023, she teamed up with Ford to create a workwear collection based on her beloved 1965 Mustang, affectionately known as ‘Britney’.

Many assume the car was named after singer Britney Spears, but the name actually comes from Brittany Blue, a blue paint color Ford first used in the 1960s.

‘I’ve always loved Mustangs,’ Sweeney confessed to WWD of her latest vintage automobile project.

I love the color blue, and when I saw the design’s color scheme, I immediately thought it was beautiful.

A year after her initial collaboration with Ford, she designed a car that was given away as a prize to one lucky fan.

She excitedly announced to her followers: ‘I’ve always dreamed of owning a Mustang, and now I’m giving one away!’

‘After working on my vintage mustang, I know that no detail is too small.’

The car enthusiast explained that after restoring her classic Mustang, she meticulously chose a unique paint color and added personal details to the interior, making the car truly special.

I was so thrilled to hear Sydney talk about her Ford Mustang collaboration with Cosmopolitan! She said she’d been envisioning this partnership ‘for a very long time,’ and honestly, as a huge fan of both, it feels like a dream come true! It’s clear this wasn’t just a random deal – it’s something she’s genuinely wanted for ages.

This car really represents who I am. It’s inspired by my classic 1964 Half Mustang, and I wanted to incorporate that into its design. The exterior is painted Robin’s Egg Blue, which is my favorite color and also matches the color of my original Mustang.

The Emmy-nominated creator went on to say she’s thrilled to finally see a physical version of her heart-shaped logo. The vehicle will also feature her name on the engine – something she finds amazing, especially since it will also appear on another person’s engine. Finally, the custom wheels are designed to closely resemble the original wheels from her famous Britney Mustang.

Her favorite part is the starlight ceiling, which she said she ‘pushed really hard on.’

That memory of being home, looking at the stars, and feeling secure really stuck with me. I wanted to create a car that could give drivers that same comforting, personal feeling,” she said.
