Hollywood icon drops out of event after heartbreaking diagnosis as they make announcement from hospital bed

Richard Dreyfuss, a beloved figure in Hollywood, has sadly informed his followers that his health condition prevents him from attending this year’s SharkCon event.

77-year-old actor who starred in “Jaws” portrayed Matt Hooper in the critically acclaimed Steven Spielberg movie that’s marking its golden jubilee this year.

In an Instagram post made on Sunday by SharkCon, Richard could be seen comfortably lying in a hospital bed, wrapped in a Jaws-themed cover.

Richard looked pale and appeared to struggle when addressing fans heading to the event.

Richard spoke to the camera saying, “Greetings, dear friends. I regret to inform you that I have recently been diagnosed with a viral infection, if you will allow me to put it in simpler terms…

Away from the camera, his wife Svetlana Erokhin affirmed that he had been battling viral bronchitis; however, it proved challenging for Richard to echo her words.

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, the airways that carry air to your lungs.

He went on saying, “My physicians have advised against it, but the destination requires a flight that lasts for five hours.

I regret to inform you that I won’t be able to attend SharkCon due to unforeseen circumstances. I was really excited about it, but my priority now is to avoid spreading or contracting any illness.

I’m really sorry for not being able to attend and even more regretful for potentially spreading the contagious virus you mentioned. However, let me assure you that there will be other opportunities, and I will definitely do my best to join those future events.

‘I hope you all find much success and joy, but I must ask for understanding as well – I am going through a great deal of discomfort, which takes priority over everything else. My focus right now is on my health, and I feel grateful for the time and well-being I have.’

The SharkCon organizers notified fans through a post that they will be issuing automatic refunds for all pre-paid autographs and photo opportunities. They urged fans not to contact them, as there’s no need.
