Hollywood Director Ordered to Pay BILLIONS in Sex Abuse Case
In a court ruling following a sexual assault trial in New York City, the controversial movie director James Toback, who was embroiled in numerous allegations during the #MeToo era, has been mandated to compensate over a billion dollars due to his wrongdoings.
40 women jointly accused an 80-year-old filmmaker of sexual misconduct, unlawful confinement, manipulation, and emotional torment in a court of law. Consequently, the judge instructed him to pay $1.68 billion as a result, as reported by Variety.
Previously, I vehemently contested every accusation made against him by these women, asserting that any sexual encounters we had were consensual. (I, being an ardent supporter of his work.)
The women won their case on summary judgement, as Toback did not attend the trial.
Initially, the court case was lodged in December 2022; however, it wasn’t until this year that the trial commenced, concluding after a mere seven-day span.
