Actor Owen Warner, known for his roles in “Hollyoaks” and “I’m a Celebrity“, is all set to confront spiders in an unusual blend of humor and horror – a British production.
As a devoted movie enthusiast, I’m excited about “Spider Island,” a chilling thriller directed by Christopher Smith, who previously captivated us with his work on “Creep.” This intriguing tale follows a group of social media influencers who receive an invitation to the grand opening of a luxurious tropical hotel. However, their glamorous getaway takes a terrifying turn when they encounter lethal spiders while exploring the island’s exotic beauty.
As reported by Deadline, the movie boasts an intriguing ensemble of experienced performers and popular social media personalities, among them being soap and reality television personality, Warner.
In the upcoming production, the actor previously known for his role as Romeo Nightingale on “Hollyoaks” will be joined by Rose Williams from “Sanditon”, Tim McInnerny of “Blackadder”, TikTok sensation Avani Gregg, Andy Nyman famous for his work in “Wicked”, Lena Mahfouf, a popular YouTuber, Carlotta Banat who starred in “Granchester”, and Anuschka Van Lent from “The Grove”.
The movie is created by Allan Niblo and James Richardson, jointly for Vertigo Films, as well as Mike Knowles for Now Films.
Richardson stated, ‘Spider Island’ is primarily a hilarious horror film that appeals to global viewers.
This proposal presents a chance for a team of exceptionally skilled actors, movie professionals, and influential social media content creators to collaborate. Currently, these spheres have limited interaction, and our aim is to construct a connecting pathway. We’ll do this with the help of creative ideas, symbolized by spiders spinning their webs as connectors.
In his statement, Director Smith mentioned: “I’ve been on the lookout for an ideal project that blends fear and humor just right, and Spider Island fits the bill perfectly. With a distinctive combination of real-life talent, performers, and a superb script, we aim to create a comedy-horror production that resonates with today’s audience.
This isn’t the first instance where Warner has encountered frightening insects or small creatures; he had a stint on “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” all the way back in 2022.
On Day 1, the star ventured into the Australian wilderness, and by the end, it was Jill Scott who claimed victory, finishing ahead of my fellow camper.
On Mondays to Wednesdays, you can catch Hollyoaks on Channel 4 at 7am for its streaming debut, followed by an E4 broadcast at 7pm in the evening. A week later, you can find full episodes of Hollyoaks on YouTube.
