Holly Willoughby’s chilling trauma and Bear Grylls’ surprising tips

Holly Willoughby shared that while working with Bear Grylls on their upcoming Netflix series, she learned that being brave isn’t just the absence of fear, but rather facing one’s fear, channeling it, and taking action regardless.

As a die-hard admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement! Yours truly, once a captivating presence on “This Morning,” will now guide Celebrity Bear Hunt – an exhilarating adventure that drops celebrities into the lush jungles of Costa Rica, transforming them into ‘prey’ for a seasoned TV survival expert.

Holly mentioned that there were several instances during the program where she needed to delve deeply and speak firmly to herself.

In challenging moments, it’s reassuring to have a companion like Bear Grylls who encourages, ‘Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s facing your fear and moving forward regardless.’

“Those phrases truly lodge themselves in one’s mind, proving incredibly beneficial; he undeniably imparted valuable skills I can apply elsewhere. Moreover, immersing oneself in nature offers a chance to pause thoughts momentarily and embrace the present.

I couldn’t help but jump at the chance when asked to host this fresh show. After all, I am a devoted fan, and so are my three little ones – our boys and girl – who adore Bear Grylls! With a TV producer husband like Dan Baldwin, how could we resist?

She mentioned, ‘Prior to starting the filming, I had a chat with Bear. Our meeting sparked quite a bit of inspiration in me.’

‘His deep-seated enthusiasm and unwavering affection for it are undeniable – he embodies it in every aspect of life. It’s truly inspiring to be near him.’

‘Having kids at different ages makes it quite hard to find something to watch all together.

The Celebrity Bear Hunt offers an exciting blend of thrilling action and heartfelt moments that both Harry (age 15) and Chester (age 10) will find captivating. At the same time, it delves into real-life connections, relationships, and dynamics which make it perfect for my daughter Belle (age 13) and me to enjoy together.

In simpler terms, Holly mentioned that she and Bear are extremely different from each other. Those who watched her collaboration with Declan Donnelly on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2018 would agree that she isn’t particularly fond of insects or bugs.

She commented: ‘I believe it’s crucial to test your limits as you age. Continually strive for fresh experiences.’

12 contestants, such as ex-tennis champion Boris Becker, ex-rugby player Danny Cipriani, television personality Steph McGovern, culinary expert Big Zuu, pop singer Una Healy from The Saturdays, and The Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas, join the Celebrity Bear Hunt competition.

Holly remarked that the contestants – including Melanie Brown from the Spice Girls, model Lottie Moss, and Shirley Ballas, a judge on Strictly Come Dancing – were all very capable contenders.

Her co-presenter Bear said: ‘Holly’s great, Holly has been a friend for some years.

She’s well-known and often recognized by celebrities as they exit the Bear Pit (elimination area), providing a comforting light during what can be an emotionally taxing experience for them.

Wouldn’t everyone appreciate some of Holly’s comforting warmth and kindness back at the campsite? She certainly lives up to her name.

Last year, the host of Dancing on Ice made a comeback to TV presenting following the imprisonment of Gavin Plumb, aged 37, who was sentenced due to his plot to abduct, sexually assault, and kill her.

Originally employed as a security guard, an individual received a sentence of life imprisonment, which includes a mandatory 16-year term, following legal proceedings held at the Chelmsford Crown Court.

She spoke openly for the first time about her harrowing experience with a stalker, expressing to The Sunday Times, “It’s been challenging. There’s simply no easy way to put it.

She expressed that she was resolute about not letting the trial overwhelm her, acknowledging her strong constitution, yet she emphasized that nothing could fully ready one for an experience of such magnitude.

She mentioned that she needed to weigh her options, either accepting the challenge which could impact various aspects of her life significantly, or focusing on the positive and beneficial aspects that matter most.

Celebrity Bear Hunt is on Netflix on February 5.
