After Holly shared a personal struggle with her health, including a secret fight she had been battling, which led her to emotionally step back from public life as depicted in a compelling Channel 4 documentary.

Jamie Oliver’s new show, Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution, hit screens earlier this month.

The documentary showcased a TV chef examining the hurdles that children with dyslexia encounter in school and advocating for greater assistance from the government.

Dyslexia often presents as a widespread challenge in reading, composing text, and spelling, along with struggles related to information processing.

During the film, Holly features and opens up about her own battle with dyslexia.

Looking back at her school days, the celebrity discussed her struggle with underperforming in exams, even though she put in immense effort.

She admitted, “I was really bad at spelling. This was evident as I often received low scores on spelling tests.

Every time I hand in my assignments, I’ve come to expect that they’ll return drenched in red ink, marking the spots where I’d made those pesky errors,” said Holly, an ardent student who takes her studies seriously.

The presenter shared that she felt distinct and elaborated, “I felt as though I was exerting an immense amount of effort without yielding significant results. Consequently, I felt unique.

She shared her take on the current school system and how it isn’t suited for everyone.

Holly remarked, “The educational structure caters to a particular style of learning, and it can be quite challenging if you don’t learn in that manner.

She pointed out that if you dismiss yourself as academically uninclined during school, it can have an impact on your future.

Previously, the television host disclosed that she was diagnosed with dyslexia later in life. She has acknowledged the significant role her teachers played in assisting her in overcoming this learning difficulty during her school years.

In 2022 on the show “This Morning”, the celebrity expressed that she didn’t view her learning challenge as a ‘handicap’. Instead, she stated, ‘I believe it contributes to shaping the unique individual I am.’

During a conversation about dyslexia with the renowned British businessman, Sir Richard Branson, aged 71 and also dyslexic, Holly expressed: “I view it not as a disadvantage but rather as a significant achievement for me.

I’m incredibly proud of my dyslexia; it shapes a significant part of who I am. Many skills I excel at in life, I believe, are due to my being dyslexic.

Sir Richard shared: At fifteen years old, I struggled so much with schoolwork that I chose to drop out of school and pursue things that caught my interest instead. Once I began applying my dyslexic thought process to areas I found intriguing, I began to thrive in them.

‘Over time, I’ve come to understand that my ability to think creatively and gather a strong team, while motivating them effectively, is truly valuable. What I’ve also learned is that having dyslexic thinking is a gift we should all be grateful for.’

‘When parents learn their child has dyslexia, they should celebrate and inform them that school basics may pose a challenge initially, but they should subsequently focus on their strengths.’

In a 2021 episode of “This Morning,” she had earlier expressed that she once felt her challenges were embarrassing or shameful when she was a child.

The host shared a reflection, admitting that for quite some time, she had felt embarrassed due to her struggles with spelling. However, it was during her college years when she experienced a significant shift in this journey of hers.

She shared candidly about the challenges she faced during her youth due to dyslexia, noting that: “Dyslexia can manifest in numerous ways, affecting individuals differently.

Indeed, like you, I too have dyslexia. For me, discovering the right set of tools was crucial, which meant seeking out someone knowledgeable about dyslexia who could guide me on how to utilize these tools effectively. Unfortunately, back at school, it wasn’t as widely recognized as it is now.

‘I used to hide my writing from others as I was self-conscious about my spelling, but now, I don’t care if I make mistakes.’
