I have always believed that giving up is not an option when faced with adversity. Just like Adam Peaty, a three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer, I learned this valuable lesson from his experiences. His relationship ending and losing his unbeaten streak in the pool were significant setbacks, but he refused to let regret consume him. Instead, he took a mental health break and sought help to pull himself out of his “deep, dark hole.”

Holly Ramsay commended her boyfriend, Adam Peaty, for his unwavering commitment and resilience as he gears up for competition at the Paris Olympics in pursuit of victory.

On Friday, prior to swimmer’s first competition on Saturday, the 24-year-old daughter of renowned chef Gordon Ramsay posted a heartfelt message.

Holly extolled the virtues of her loving partner of a year, commending him as an exceptional father and expressing gratitude for getting to witness him in his competitions.

I, Adam, a highly esteemed 29-year-old breaststroke swimmer and three-time Olympic contender, am gearing up for another remarkable competition at the Olympics.

The swimmer, who has openly discussed his past struggles with depression and alcoholism, is now more joyful than before, having met Holly in the year 2023.

I’ve had the immense pleasure of observing your journey over the past year, and I must say, it has been truly inspiring. Your unwavering determination and commitment to your goals have left me in awe. The experiences you’ve had and the progress you’ve made are a testament to the power of perseverance and dedication. Keep shining bright!

Despite long hours dedicated to training, team conferences, workouts at the gym, and physiotherapy sessions, you have managed to excel as an incredible father to George and a loving partner to me. Witnessing numerous training sessions and organizing team breakfasts has filled me with immense gratitude for being a part of your life.

‘I love you. Go out there and smash it. Enjoy it all, you deserve everything and more.

‘Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. – 1 Corinthians 16:13’.

An influencer shared a message accompanied by multiple pictures, among which was one depicting the influencer and another person smiling back at each other in a mirror reflection, with what appeared to be an engagement ring on the hand of the daughter of Gordon Ramsey.

In a different photo, the brunette woman was pictured casually leaning against a wall, looking on intently as her boyfriend competed off-camera.

Holly shared unfiltered moments from her and Adam’s everyday life with fans, including pictures of casual breakfasts and road trips.

I couldn’t help but capture every angle of my beloved athlete’s preparation for the big event. In one shot, he stood confidently dressed in his complete sports ensemble – flaunting his official Paris Olympics hoodie and matching bags. In another moment, he playfully pouted at the camera, donning a charming baby blue Team GB bucket hat.

The couple appear more loved up than ever and recently celebrated their one-year anniversary.

Holly shared ‘she hasn’t stopped smiling’ since she met the Olympic swimmer ‘365 days ago’.

In June 2023, there were whispers that the charming pair were seeing each other. Since then, their relationship has been thriving.

More recently, Adam shared that he went through a three-year ordeal of misery due to dealing with depression and alcohol addiction, as well as ending things with his longtime partner Eirianedd Munro. However, he has since regained his enthusiasm for swimming.

After being devastated by swimming, he confessed that he no longer wished to be near pools. In his despair, he sought solace in drinking and socializing.

I’ve faced my fair share of adversity throughout my athletic career, and there have been moments when giving up seemed like the only option. At my absolute lowest point, people would often ask me why I didn’t just quit the sport entirely. To be honest, I was so close to throwing in the towel. But what was I going back for? Was it merely a matter of pride?

I firmly believe that giving up is not an option when facing challenges, especially for my children, including George. Life can be tough at times, and it may seem like the world is stacked against us. However, it’s essential to understand that there comes a time when giving up makes sense. But what I can’t abide by is regret. Regret gnaws away at a person from within, consuming them entirely. My life experiences have taught me that losses are inevitable, but the remorse that accompanies them can be avoided. Instead, I want to instill in my children the resilience to push through even the most difficult times and learn valuable lessons along the way.

In the year 2022, his three-year romance with Eirianedd came to an end. This was following his participation in Strictly Come Dancing which also marked the end of his impressive eight-year winning streak in pool competitions. After the Commonwealth Games, he decided to take a break from public life to focus on his mental wellbeing.

The swimmer said he became very depressed and turned to alcohol to cope.

In an interview for Men’s Health, he shared that the solutions weren’t hiding in late-night club scenes or old habits of mine. Instead, true accountability and raw, honest conversations with those close to me were the keys to unearthing the answers.

After encountering Holly during their time on the BBC program, he subsequently began a romantic connection with her and they are currently together. He acknowledges having a strong and beneficial support system now, expressing that it has been a lengthy process for him to find the right one.

Adam also revealed how Holly’s famous father Gordon helped pull him out of his ‘deep, dark hole’.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, he shared that the renowned chef has become both a guiding figure and inspiration for him. He admires this individual’s unyielding determination and his journey to reach the pinnacle of his profession.

In April 2024, Adam regained his enthusiasm for competitive swimming and secured a spot in the Paris Olympics by setting his fastest time in the British 100m men’s breaststroke final since 2021 and winning the title.

“Gordon excels in his field and has climbed the professional ladder, now holding a prestigious position with a straightforward and authentic work environment.”

I learn a great deal from him, impressed by his unwavering commitment and professional demeanor each day.

I often find myself in awe when I come across individuals who seem to effortlessly glide through their workday, fully engaged yet unphased by the emotional demands of their jobs. I can’t help but think, “Why can’t I be like that? Why do I have to feel so deeply involved with every task?” My life experience has taught me that being emotionally invested in my work is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it fuels my passion and drives me to excel. But on the other, it can leave me drained and vulnerable, taking a toll on my energy and emotional wellbeing. I aspire to find a balance, where I can maintain that level of dedication while also preserving my mental and emotional health.

Observing Gordon at work in his role motivated him to adjust his own swimming techniques based on his inspiration.
