Story: The narrative of “Hold the Fort” unfolds as Lucas (Mayers) and Jenny (Leary) settle into their fresh suburban abode. Yet, they receive an unexpected shock when the president of the Homeowners Association, Jerry (Smith), gathers everyone for a meeting, anticipating an imminent assault by a horde of malevolent creatures.
Lucas and Jenny aren’t entirely sure if they should treat it as a real threat or not, but they decide to attend the meeting anyway. But when the gates of the underworld suddenly open and monsters launch their assault, they have no choice but to react swiftly. The townsfolk must band together to make it through the night, as wave after wave of evil assails them.
Verdict on Hold the Fort
Recap
The film centers around newly-acquired homeowners who find themselves living beside a portal to hell. Yet, they’re not alone as there are fellow residents who annually get ready for combat, now confronting their initial wave of supernatural creatures.
Best Parts
In my opinion, this film masterfully blends the chilling thrills of horror with the irresistible allure of comedy, and then some! Right from the get-go, it plunges headfirst into the action without a moment’s hesitation or an ounce of restraint when it comes to its bizarre and hilarious creature designs. If you’re in search of a non-stop, unapologetically entertaining horror comedy that keeps the laughs and gore flowing, then this is definitely the movie for you. The actors expertly embody their characters, striking the perfect balance between eliciting laughter and delivering pulse-pounding action sequences drenched in blood!
Worst Parts
Although some visual effects could be smoother than usual, they’re overshadowed by the mind-blowing sequence of events. Moreover, the more tangible special effects are quite impressive.
Final Thoughts – Hold the Fort is a relentless, non-stop horror comedy.
