Even though Hogwarts Legacy came out three years ago, many fans are still hoping the game will get an official first-person mode. Currently, the popular Harry Potter-inspired RPG is played in third-person, but some players think a first-person perspective would make the game even more immersive. It’s unclear if the developers will consider this feedback for the next game, so for now, players are stuck with the current third-person view—or are they?
Hogwarts Legacy In First Person Is A Very Different Game
A fan has created a mod for Hogwarts Legacy that allows players to experience the game in first-person for the first time. This simple change dramatically alters the game’s appearance, offering stunning views, especially while flying. Combat also feels much more immersive, as the focus shifts to the magic and spells rather than the player character. While character customization is still fun, this mod really highlights the magical world.
A mod called First Person, created by Sh4ii on CurseForge, lets Hogwarts Legacy players experience the game from a first-person viewpoint. The best part is you can easily switch between first and third-person perspectives whenever you like!
Hogwarts Legacy Has Tons Of Mods
There are thousands of free modifications, or ‘mods,’ available for the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy. Modders have been especially busy recently, coinciding with the game’s third anniversary, to create new content. Since Avalanche Software hasn’t released any downloadable content or updates since the game came out, it’s the modding community that’s keeping the game fresh and engaging while fans eagerly await the next installment.
The next Harry Potter RPG is facing some uncertainty. While rumors suggest a multiplayer mode, the game’s setting might not appeal to all players. Despite this, given the incredibly loyal fanbase, it’s likely to still be a commercial success – Hogwarts Legacy was one of 2023’s best-selling games. A lot of the game’s continued appeal is thanks to its active and creative modding community.
