IO Interactive and Eminem are teaming up for a special event in the game HITMAN World of Assassination. From December 1st to December 31st, players will have the chance to take on Eminem – and his alter ego, Slim Shady – as a unique and challenging ‘Elusive Target’.

Hitman World of Assassination is a stealth-action game that came out recently. It combines the best parts of HITMAN 1, 2, and 3 into a single, complete experience. Players can enjoy modes like Contracts, Escalation, and the newly added Elusive Target.

Players can chase Slim through surreal areas and uncover references

In the game’s story, Em has been attempting to suppress his other personality, but it keeps resurfacing, so he hired a professional to eliminate it permanently. This new Elusive Target mission takes place in a distorted version of the Hokkaido medical facility, called Popsomp Hills Asylum, offering players various ways to complete the contract.

Eminem recently wrapped up the story of his alter ego, Slim Shady, with his new song “The Death of Slim Shady,” making this collaboration feel particularly significant. It’s fitting that Agent 47 is facing off against the final remnants of a character who’s been so persistent. I’m excited to track down Slim Shady throughout the various locations in the Asylum, including his broadcasting studio.

It’s cool to see doctors, patients, and performers involved, but as a big Eminem fan, I especially appreciate all the nods to his past work – like the famous ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ and a performance of his new song, ‘Houdini’. I think this will be even more impressive than his collaboration with Bruce Lee.
