Hit Netflix Series Returns With Promising Rotten Tomatoes Score In Season 2

One of Netflix‘s hit comedy shows has returned with a promising Rotten Tomatoes score.

Netflix has found success with its comedy series lately by casting popular actors in roles that play to their strengths. For example, millennial favorites Adam Brody and Kristen Bell star in the romantic comedy Nobody Wants This, and Ted Danson brings a familiar energy to A Man on the Inside. Both shows have been renewed for another season.

Season 2 of Running Point, starring Kate Hudson, is now available on Netflix and has started off strong with an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on the first 7 reviews. This score could change as more reviews come in over the next few weeks.

I’m really excited about this new show, Running Point! It’s a funny sports comedy and was actually inspired by the Lakers and Jeanie Buss. The story centers around Isla Gordon, who unexpectedly becomes president of the Los Angeles Waves after her brother gets caught up in a scandal. Now, in the second season, her brother is trying to get his job back, which I’m sure will cause a lot of drama! Justin Theroux plays him, and I can’t wait to see what happens.

The first season of Running Point, created by Elaine Ko, Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen (who also served as showrunner), received a 79% rating based on 53 reviews. Early indicators suggest the upcoming second season is performing even better.

I’m so glad Running Point is back! The cast – Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, and Uche Agada – really shines. Everyone has great chemistry together, and I especially love how commanding and captivating Hudson is as Isla Gordon. The reviews are mostly positive, and it’s easy to see why!

ScreenRant praised Running Point, calling it a feel-good show that’s easy to enjoy and makes you want to support the characters. Meredith Loftus from Collider agreed, noting that the actors’ strong performances outweigh any flaws in the show.

Despite these flaws, some viewers feel the show’s story doesn’t really progress much before the end of Running Point season 2. However, most agree the comedy is getting better, and a third season could make it even stronger.

All episodes of Running Point are on Netflix.
