Hit musical Six to get a UK cinema release

West End musical Six is getting a UK cinema release this April.

Screen Daily reports that Universal Pictures Content Group has secured the broadcasting rights for “Six The Musical Live!” in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Starting from April 6, the musical will be shown extensively in local cinemas.

Composed by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, this musical explores the untold stories of King Henry VIII’s six wives, as they boldly emerge from his shadow to share their perspectives.

The unique show, filmed at London’s Vaudeville Theatre, will bring back the original cast – Jarnéia Richard-Noel, Natalie Paris, Alexia McIntosh, Millie O’Connell, Aimie Atkinson, and Maiya Quansah-Breed – who previously starred in the initial West End production.

Under the direction of Moss and Jamie Armitage for a live stage performance, Six The Musical Live! is helmed by Liz Clare in the director’s chair, while Kenny Wax, George Stiles, Dione Orrom, Wendy Barnes, and Andy Barnes assume the roles of producers.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t contain my excitement about Universal Pictures Content Group’s plan to bring the Tony Award-winning production to movie theaters in the UK and Ireland. They’ve already treated us to screenings of ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’ and ‘Les Misérables – The Staged Concert’, so I can only imagine what they have in store for us this time!

I, as a gamer, can proudly say that Universal Pictures Content Group has been honored to collaborate with some of the world’s most renowned musical theater producers, including legends like Sir Cameron Mackintosh, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Stephen Schwartz, on their globally successful and critically acclaimed live shows. It’s a privilege to work with such talents!

We’re thrilled to offer movie-lovers nationwide an opportunity to belt out songs in joy with the remarkable live performance of Six The Musical!”

This version maintains the original intent while using more conversational language that is easy for a wide audience to understand.

Marlow and Moss expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the chance to produce the series, and they’re thrilled to present “Six” to an even broader audience through this novel and intriguing format.

Excitedly speaking here as a musical enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement to share that “Six: The Musical Live!” is set to grace our cinema screens in the UK and Ireland on April 6th! If you’re as thrilled as I am, grab your tickets now from Today Tix, LoveTheatre, or London Theatre – they’re available starting today!
