The second season of Booksish has released its first official photos now that filming has finished.
The period drama, led by Mark Gatiss and finished filming in December 2025, has offered a sneak peek at the next season. This includes a first look at Jason Watkins as Harold Sneed, a new character joining the cast.
Alongside Polly Walker (known for Bridgerton) as Trottie Book and Connor Finch as Jack Blunt, Gatiss plays Gabriel Book, a bookshop owner who finds himself solving crimes in London during 1946.
Season two of the show will explore increasingly complex and unusual crimes as Book becomes more deeply involved in assisting the police with their investigations. The new season centers around Book’s investigation into the world of spiritualism when he’s called upon to solve a puzzling case involving medium Harold Sneed (played by Watkins).

Just off Savile Row, Bliss enlists Book’s help with a strange murder at a men’s clothing shop. The elderly tailor, Maxie Kleinmann (played by Corduner), seems eager to confess, but the facts don’t add up, suggesting a far more complicated and disturbing situation.
Book and Jack are dispatched to the picturesque German village of Würl by a shadowy figure known only as ‘E’ (Callow). Their mission: to stop a Duchess (Richardson) from stealing something during the Christmas season. But the holiday cheer quickly fades when Book and Jack stumble upon hidden truths about their own lives – both old and new – within a foreboding castle filled with people who could be murderers.
Book is facing increasing danger due to his ongoing connection with the police. Adding to his troubles, his seemingly perfect marriage to his childhood friend, Trottie, is jeopardized by the charming Colonel Winters (played by Graves).
Bookish is a uniquely stylish detective drama set in the past. It blends a longing for earlier, simpler times with the energetic and vibrant feel of the era it portrays.
Ruth Codd, known for her role in Celebrity Traitors, will also appear as a guest star named India Flynn in a new series on U&alibi, which is planned to premiere in 2026.
The first season of Bookish launched last year and was a hit with viewers, averaging 1.5 million watchers. It became U&alibi’s second most popular premiere ever.
All six episodes of Bookish season one are available to stream via Sky, NOW and Virgin Media.
