Hilaria Baldwin discloses how much she made for pics of first baby… and how she spent the ‘gross’ money

Hilaria Baldwin recently shared that she earned $95,000 from selling the very first pictures of her oldest daughter, Carmen, to the public.

Fitness influencer Hilaria Baldwin, 41, and her husband, Alec Baldwin, 67, are parents to seven children: 12-year-old Carmen, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, Maria, 3, and 2-year-old Ilaria.

She recently shared her changing views on why celebrities hide their children’s faces from the paparazzi, discussing it on The Viall Files podcast.

She noticed a direct connection between her actions and the attention from the paparazzi. She also pointed out that the media landscape was quite different just twelve years prior, making the situation unique to that time.

She shared the first photos of her children and immediately donated all the money she earned to charity, feeling uncomfortable profiting from them. She explained this to Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy.

She explained that the money she made from the photos of Carmen was donated to a children’s charity in Mallorca, where her family lives, supporting those who have experienced sexual abuse.

Hilaria Baldwin (born Hilary Hayward-Thomas in Boston) has often been criticized since 2020, when it was revealed she had misrepresented her background as being Spanish.

She’s been speaking Spanish since she was a child and often visited Mallorca growing up, as her parents have lived there since 2011.

Hilaria justified selling photos of her children by reasoning that someone would profit from them anyway – either paparazzi or a structured system. She decided she would rather control the process and direct any earnings towards a positive cause.

I used to sell photos of my youngest children, but as my family grew, I stopped. The whole business of selling those kinds of photos is changing, so I now just share pictures of them on Instagram. It’s much easier – I don’t have to worry about people constantly trying to get those photos anymore.

I was really struck by something Hilaria shared recently. She explained that a very well-known person advised her that the more she posts pictures, the less likely she is to be targeted by harassment or bounties. Apparently, increased visibility actually decreases the negative attention. It’s a strategy she’s found helpful, and I thought it was a really interesting insight.

She revealed this information after facing online criticism for a self-portrait displayed in the living room of her Hamptons home, where she lives with Alec and their children.

Artist Brendan O’Connell created a large artwork seemingly based on a paparazzi photo of Hilaria Baldwin grocery shopping. The photo showed her standing in front of shelves stocked with Rice-A-Roni boxes.

A painting was noticed while the Baldwins were featured in a New York Times photo spread showcasing their summer home in Amagansett.

Hilaria told the newspaper she was really embarrassed by the large painting of herself hanging in the room. She joked that it felt like the painting was saying, ‘Welcome to my home – here I am!’

I remember back in September, when her husband shared some pictures from that New York Times feature on Instagram, the reaction to the painting in the comments was just awful. People were really making fun of it, honestly. It was disheartening to see.

People on social media reacted with amusement and criticism, calling the situation ‘rage bait’ and questioning the person’s self-awareness. Many found it ironic that she would display the picture if she was truly embarrassed, and some commented that only a narcissistic person would have a portrait of themselves prominently displayed in their living room.

Alec has put his large 10,000-square-foot Hamptons mansion back on the market for $21 million, according to TMZ.

This large home in Amagansett, New York, has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It sits on a 10-acre property and features a pool, covered balconies, and a spa.

In the early 2000s, while dating actress Kristin Davis from Sex and the City, Baldwin was having trouble in the relationship. Davis admitted to her co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, that she hesitated to end things because Baldwin had a beautiful house in Amagansett.

The actor, known for his role in 30 Rock, originally bought the property in 1996 for just $1.75 million. He later listed it for sale in 2022 with an asking price of $29 million.

By January 2024, he had significantly lowered the price to around $19 million and even appeared in a promotional real estate video, sharing that he felt most at peace while living in the house.

After being unable to sell the house last summer, due to the continued attention surrounding the Rust shooting, he’s put it back on the market with a price increase of $2 million.
