High-profile Australian TV star enjoys a rub-down at a backstreet massage parlour

It was no shock that Andrew O’Keef was spotted entering a back-alley massage parlor in Bondi earlier this month, apparently seeking a brief massage.

On Thursday, November 7, around 7 pm, O’Keefe, wearing a casual outfit of a short-sleeved shirt and shorts, was seen conversing about the various offerings at Miss Massage located on Gould Street, not too long after that time.

And he could well have scored quite a deal.

At Miss Massage, which is just a short 10-minute drive from the former TV star‘s humble residence in Vaucluse, a receptionist informed us that they provide a 30-minute deep tissue massage for $50, and a full hour massage costs an additional $30.

It’s a bargain for a man who once commanded about $800,000 a year at Seven.

However, she warned that anyone expecting a happy ending would be sorely disappointed, saying, ‘No, we don’t do that here’ – and Daily Mail Australia does not suggest otherwise.

The next day, O’Keefe appeared untroubled and seemed to be enjoying himself once more, flashing a smile not seen in many months, as he navigated the city’s eastern suburbs in a sleek black Mercedes car, attending to his errands.

This year saw the 53-year-old’s life unravel, marked by multiple court visits due to a series of crimes and a widely recognized battle against substance abuse.

In October, a court mandated that O’Keefe seek treatment at a rehabilitation facility following his admission of guilt for trespassing, violating an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO), and holding an illegal substance.

Previously, he was out on bond for the initial two charges. However, on September 16, he was taken into custody again as the police allegedly discovered crystal meth in his vehicle during a search.

After being a lawyer, he was held for several weeks at the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre, which is known for its tough reputation, located within the Silverwater jail system in Sydney, before his next court date.

While serving time in prison, he frequently faced ridicule from his cellmates, who seized any chance to jeer at the ex-host of Deal or No Deal regarding his unfortunate decline.

According to information from inside the prison, a specific band of suspected wrongdoers were notoriously ruthless, often crossing their arms over their chests whenever they saw him in the prison courtyard, and would shout “No Deal!” at him.

In the face of bullying, O’Keefe chose not to file official reports concerning his experiences within the center. Instead, he opted for maintaining a discreet presence and keeping silent whenever possible.

I, being a former Channel Seven star, was not considered by prison authorities as requiring immediate separation from the general population or protective custody, as they deemed my taunting experiences insufficiently severe. Consequently, I found myself sharing a two-bed cell with another inmate within the facility.

At his sentencing in October, magistrate Jacqueline Milledge made it clear that if O’Keefe violated the law once more, a prison term was likely unavoidable for him.

I’ve had numerous chances to address your drug issue,” I shared with O’Keefe.

‘I can assure you the next step is jail. I’m not just saying that, I absolutely mean it.

‘It’s got to the state where the court would believe you just can’t be rehabilitated.

I’m genuinely sad to see that you’re currently struggling, and it seems like you haven’t been able to regain your momentum yet.

I hope you find your way back to a place where you can contribute to the community once more.

In a court appearance, O’Keefe expressed that although his connection with his children is currently strained, they continue to hold the most cherished place in his heart. His ultimate goal is to conquer his destructive addiction for their sake.

He expressed that they are amazing, and he wishes to support them wholeheartedly. He realized that no medication could facilitate this connection if it interferes with his life, as he stated.

In response, Ms. Milledge ordered Mr. O’Keefe to serve a 30-month supervision under community corrections, requiring him to participate in a drug treatment program.

In addition, he received a fine of $2,000 and was barred from driving for a period of three months due to the drug-related charge. Furthermore, he was given an additional fine of $500 for the offense of unlawful entry.

The incident occurred only a few weeks following an instance where O’Keefe was critically ill due to a heroin overdose in his apartment in the city’s eastern suburbs, as pointed out by the same magistrate who had remarked that he was fortunate to be alive. Emergency services were required to transport him to the hospital.
