Be warned, this article contains spoilers for the season 2 finale of High Potential, episode 14, “If You Come For The Queen.” Despite being a hit, ABC is making changes to High Potential, and many believe it’s a smart move. The show, starring Kaitlin Olson, quickly became popular after its 2024 debut and has consistently ranked among the most-watched programs in the 2025-2026 television season. High Potential performs well both on regular television and streaming platforms, making it a valuable asset for ABC.
ABC is clearly optimistic about the future of High Potential, recently renewing it for a third season. While original showrunner Todd Harthan is leaving to work on Disney+’s Eragon, the show has a solid base and is likely to remain popular with viewers. It’s evident that High Potential is resonating well with its audience.
High Potential Season 2 Pairs Up Daphne & Morgan For The First Time
Disney
Morgan is the central character in High Potential, and her connection with Adam Karadec is key to the show’s plot. The series hints at a possible romance between them, playing on the classic will-they/won’t-they trope, and the final episodes seem to suggest that relationship could develop.
It’s unexpected to see the team dynamics shift in High Potential season 2, episode 14, “If You Come For The Queen.” Morgan is now partnered with Daphne Forrester, and in a surprising move, Selina Soto gives Daphne her first case as the lead detective, despite the victim, Dottie Reynolds, being a close friend. Meanwhile, Karadec and Lev Ozdil investigate a separate case, while Morgan and Daphne work together throughout most of the episode.
Olson’s character and Karadec never have a private moment together; they only interact when other people are around. This is a surprising development, particularly since the show High Potential seemed to be building towards a romance between them. However, it’s really enjoyable to see Morgan and Daphne working together. They’re both skilled at what they do and share a strong connection.
High Potential Season 2’s Female-Focused Episode Is Perfect For Women’s Month

Although the timing might seem unexpected, it’s actually ideal. Pairing Morgan and Daphne in an episode of High Potential during Women’s History Month—celebrated every March—is a wonderful way to honor the show’s talented women and its audience. The episode, “If You Come For The Queen,” will air on the Tuesday closest to International Women’s Day on March 8th.
Throughout its run, High Potential has consistently portrayed the triumphs, challenges, and inner strength of women. While Morgan’s journey as a single mother and dedicated detective has been a central focus, the show has also explored the experiences of other characters like Soto, particularly when she was unfairly denied a promotion. Season 2, episode 11 continues this trend with Daphne’s storyline, notably her touching relationship with Ava.
