This research extends beyond mere usability, delving into the ethical ramifications of increasingly autonomous systems – including issues of bias, fairness, and accountability. Understanding user expectations, anxieties, and evolving trust levels is crucial; without it, the potential benefits of AI risk being overshadowed by public apprehension and resistance. Consequently, a multidisciplinary approach – encompassing psychology, sociology, computer science, and philosophy – is vital to proactively address potential harms and ensure that AI development aligns with human values, fostering a future where these powerful tools are both effective and ethically sound.
