HEROIC and Team Spirit win in Group A debut at BLAST Premier Fall Groups

As a long-time CS:GO fan and avid follower of the esports scene, I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by HEROIC’s performance at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups despite having their coach as a stand-in. It’s not easy for a team to maintain their form with a substitute in place of a key player, especially when it comes to the critical role of an AWPer like degster. However, HEROIC managed to pull through and secure victories against Complexity, showcasing impressive teamplay and individual skills.

HEROIC played exceptionally well despite having their coach as a stand-in.

At the BLAST Premier Fall Groups on July 29, Team Spirit and HEROIC progressed to the final of Group A’s upper bracket after triumphing against OG and Complexity respectively.

I was expecting OG to keep their strong duo of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets and Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov, but unfortunately, they had to rely on Thomas “Thomas” Utting as a stand-in instead. This proved to be insufficient, leading to their loss against Complexity. On the contrary, HEROIC took everyone by surprise with their impressive victory over Complexity. Despite Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov’s absence due to travel issues, their head coach Eetu “sAw” Saha stepped up and delivered a remarkable performance.

Currently, Heroic and Spirit are set to face off in the upper bracket final of Group A on July 30. Meanwhile, Complexity and OG will battle it out to avoid elimination on the same day.

2 skills placed them among the top teams globally, whereas OG is in the process of constructing a strong Counter-Strike unit.

Spirit’s teamwork was exceptional, and both donk and sh1ro delivered impressive performances in this series. donk boasted a commendable K/D ratio of 37-24, while sh1ro secured 36 frags against only 17 deaths. The highlight of the series was donk’s spectacular quad kill with the Desert Eagle.

Despite the absence of their star AWPer degster, HEROIC managed to outperform Complexity with their skilled riflers. The experienced head coach sAw, who had retired as a professional player in November 2020, still made significant contributions, ending the match with a commendable K-D ratio of 27-30.

As a gamer, I can tell you that although our coach may not have been at his best during the match, my teammates and I held our own. We all played effectively and contributed to the team’s success. Nevertheless, René “TeSeS” Madsen and Guy “NertZ” Iluz truly stood out. They racked up an impressive 91 kills between them in only 51 rounds. To add to their stellar performance, NertZ showcased some remarkable skill by landing three precise headshots with the M4A1-S.

When do these teams play again?

As an excited fan, I can’t wait to see Spirit go head-to-head with HEROIC in the upper bracket final of BLAST Premier Fall Groups on July 30 at 3 a.m. PT! Meanwhile, the lower bracket final is scheduled for the same day at 5:30 a.m. PT.
