Heroes of the Storm honors 10 years with special skin for beloved Warcraft hero
It’s clear that Heroes of the Storm holds significant value for countless individuals. We truly appreciate the unwavering enthusiasm you’ve maintained towards this game over a whole decade.
10 years ago, Heroes of the Storm, a multiplayer online battle arena game that brings iconic characters from various Blizzard franchises together, was introduced to gamers worldwide. Initially launched in 2015, it is now in maintenance mode as of 2022.
Despite the game seemingly fading away, it’s the devoted players who have kept Heroes of the Storm thriving. To pay tribute to those who’ve made the game so unique, Blizzard is making all heroes available at no cost, providing two new portraits for everyone, and unveiling the Gear Head Thrall skin.
Heroes of the Storm gets Gear Head Thrall skin
Starting today and until Heroes of the Storm’s June 15th update, players can log in to claim two special portraits as a gift: one commemorating the game’s 10-year anniversary and another representing the Nexus. Additionally, the new Gear Head Thrall skin is now available for purchase within the game store at a cost of 1,500 Gems.
This unique skin commemorates ten years of Heroes of the Storm and honors the 30-year history of the Warcraft series. The character Thrall, once the revered Warchief in the Warcraft universe, is particularly cherished.
The Classic Games team is diligently looking through their archives for unpublished game skins that might require some final tweaks before they can be launched. These findings could potentially lead to more new skins being released in the future, according to Blizzard.
Heroes of the Storm’s 10-year anniversary
Not only will you find complimentary anniversary portraits and the debut of Thrall’s new skin in our MOBA, but all characters – including original ones like Orphea and Qhira – can be played for free until our next update on June 15th.
Blizzard expressed their gratitude to all of you for your unwavering enthusiasm towards Heroes of the Storm over the past ten years, as it holds significant value to many of you.
