Hermès is preparing to debut “Mystery at the Groom’s,” their second interactive exhibit, located at Pier 36 – Downtown Manhattan. This immersive event will breathe life into the brand’s equestrian legacy, displaying its skillful craftsmanship, rich history, and playful storytelling.
First introduced in Shanghai towards the end of 2023, this installation is nestled within an imaginary French manor – The Groom’s House – where Hermès’ horses are typically cared for. However, something seems off: the horses have mysteriously disappeared. Visitors are encouraged to unravel the mystery by using their smartphones to gather clues and monitor their progress as they navigate through a sequence of intricately designed rooms.
Hermès items gracefully blend into every space, serving dual purposes as practical accessories that showcase the brand’s design craftsmanship and versatility. This immersive encounter is structured with a time limit, creating an air of importance around the task at hand, and those who manage to discover the hidden horses are rewarded – a lasting memento that completes the overall experience.
The event takes place at Pier 36 in New York City from June 18 to 29, 2025, and it’s completely free! Although advance reservations have been filled, you can still drop by during specific timeframes: 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, 2:30 PM–3:45 PM, and 5:00 PM–6:30 PM. It’s on a first-come, first-served basis. If you can’t make it to New York, the installation will also be appearing in Tokyo, Singapore, and Paris later this year.
