Here’s your first look at Netflix’s “insane” sequel to one of its best action movies
Netflix recently unveiled some initial glimpses of the eagerly awaited follow-up to “The Old Guard“, featuring Charlize Theron reprising her role as Andy, along with her team of eternal mercenaries, embarking on a new assignment.
2020 saw the debut of a movie directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, which was based on the self-titled graphic novel written by Greg Rucka, who also penned the screenplay for this production.
As a devoted fan, I was captivated by the movie that garnered rave reviews, where Charlize Theron brilliantly portrayed Andromache, also known as Andy from Scythia. She led an exceptional team of mercenaries who, blessed with regenerative abilities, utilized their powers to aid humanity.

In this movie, there’s something for all kinds of viewers: Those who enjoyed the initial film, enthusiasts of the original comic books, and newcomers searching for exhilarating action sequences, authentic characters, breathtaking landscapes, and a diverse ensemble of A-list celebrities. This was mentioned by Theron when discussing the sequel with Netflix.
She playfully suggested that we’d be encountering some entirely fresh figures, subtly indicating not only Golding but also Uma Thurman, who has mysteriously become part of the cast and is yet to reveal her specific role.
Quynh returns, and her journey unfolds further, causing great anticipation among us! It’s thrilling to announce that Uma Thurman and Henry Golding have joined the cast as significant new characters in the realm of The Old Guard. The return of Andy and her band of warriors is marked by a fresh determination.
The risks have grown as Andy is now mortal and capable of dying, yet this won’t deter her from participating in the events.
The Old Guard 2 is released on Netflix on 2 July.
