Dwayne Johnson recently announced that filming for Jumanji 3 will begin in November. He told Variety that he enjoys making those movies and plans to continue the series.

Okay, so I just heard that Jake Kasdan is directing the next Jumanji movie – awesome! And the guys who wrote the last one, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, are coming back to write this one with him. Sounds like they’re keeping the dream team together, which is really exciting!

In 2021, producer Hiram Garcia shared that they intended to begin development on a third Jumanji film after Red One came out in 2024. He told ComicBook they had a grand plan for the next movie and were very enthusiastic about it.

I’m so excited – they’re starting work on the next movie soon! Jake Kasdan is doing Red One first, which makes sense, and then he’s going to jump right into Jumanji. It sounds like they’re hoping to have everything lined up and ready to go for the third Jumanji film right after Red One comes out. I really think they’re aiming to get it done then, and I can’t wait!

Previously, Kevin Hart indicated that the third film would be the last in the series. In a 2023 interview with Variety, he explained they needed a significant conclusion for the pair, rather than an unfinished story.

Jumanji 3 is due out in cinemas on 11 December 2026.
